I don't know about anyone else, but I wish they would make a sequel like they did with FF4 or a spinoff game featuring characters from the game or at least taking place in the same universe.
While I haven't heard a lot of praise about the FF4:AY game, I enjoyed it because it just gave me more of what I already liked without screwing up the game or story by changing the game looks or mechanics. A sequel would be easy for square to do and would probably sell quite well as this is one of the franchises most popular games.
I also think I spinoff game would be cool, and it could feature the war of the magi or maybe the ancient kingdom that's under the desert.

It would have to be a prequel I think and not a spinoff sequel.

I did not like what they did with IV. It just felt like they recycled the dungeons and only put a little bit of thought into the extra story. I like this game how it is, but I would probably buy a pegleg version for 3DS.

I view the peg leg versions with a sort of distaste.

Yeah, I remember you guys saying that on the podcast. A single tear rolled down my cheek.
I think the reason I did the peglegs is that it gave me a reason to have a DS and to replay old favorites with some possible changes to the game. It was also the only way I got to play III.

I view the peg leg versions with a sort of distaste. The FF3 version on NES is one of the best looking NES games ever and also one of thelargest and longest NES games too. Its sad it was never officially localized... Lots of fans prefer playing the NES version than the DS version because the DS version changed some things.

So I've heard. Original III apparently was much better, and it didn't have the sick wait time in between job switching. But the peg legged, pot bellied characters are too much sometimes...

I really liked what they did with the PSP and wii versions of FF4 and FF:AY. They didn't F with the style of the game, but instead embraced the original graphics and gameplay elements. I wish they would give FF6 the same treatment.

I wish they would give FF6 the same treatment. I agree, the PSP version of FF4 is the definitive version for me now. It's the same exact game, just updated graphics and translation. I also want to take a moment to express my absolute contempt for the DS version of FF4. I hate it more than anything else in the history of the series. Okay, maybe a bit of stretch, but I definitely don't like it. It's a shame it was so many people's first and only experience with the awesomeness that is FF4.

I unfortunately have to agree with the negative responses toward the DS version. While I appreciate the attempt to update the game, I'm a bit of a purist and this style seemed like it was out of left field.

Yeah I agree they should make FF6 the same way the did the PSP FF4 version. Maybe do FF3 and FF5 as well since FF1,2 and 4 are the only ones that were redone for PSP in the original 2D sprite style. As for FF4 DS its pretty bad but after playing the 2D version of FF4 lots of times I was ok with trying the series out in 3D... Sure its not even close to the PSP version but eh its another way to play the game again and it does add some really hard mechanics to the game and stuff like Onion Swords.

I was happy to try a new spin in this game too. I'd beaten the game so many times that I thought the change to 3D would breathe new life into the game. I was instead underwhelmed and disappointed.
