Hello! This is Gilhadren and I love me some Final Fantasy! Trying to pick my fav gives me a headache so I'm not gonna try =D Been binge listening to your show as I am a new here and so far I love it. Happy to check out the forums. Already feel like I know some people just from listening to the show. About myself? Uhh... Canadian eh, right on and stuff. Found the podcast just from looking for a FF podcast, tried an episode and liked it, so now here I am. Looking forward to many more great shows.
Welcome to the forums fellow FF fan. All I know about Canada is what I learned from the movie Strange Brew with Rick Moranis lol. (not really) Strange Brew reference. That's good stuff. Don't sneeze while using bullets to stop a bleeding nose. . .

Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been listening to the podcast and most of the past episodes since June and following Caleb's FF13 playthrough on Twitch for a while now. Overall I really like how this podcast doesn't go the fanboy route by indiscriminately bashing any FF game they don't like, but rather takes a reasoned approach in laying out what the developers could have done better (for each game, not just the lower ranked ones) while celebrating all the things that made each game stand out and make Final Fantasy what it is today. Listening to them really helped me realize just how much I love this series. Of the ones I've played, my personal favorites, in order, are probably:
9 (1st FF I played back in '99 which ended up being a culmination of everything great about the series and I actually enjoyed the slower/laid back battle system which I ended up playing co-op) 6 (it was just so far ahead of its time in terms of story and gameplay, probably tied with 9 as my favorite) 8 (mostly a sentimental pick as the 2nd FF I played, really liked the main characters and their chemistry as a group, but I definitely understand why other people rank it lower) 10 (the ending really redeemed all the frustrating hours spent on the minigames for me) 7 (didn't really find Aerith as compelling a character as some of the other females in the series like Celes, so her death also wasn't nearly as powerful a moment as Celes' suicide attempt for me, at least when I first played it, but otherwise enjoyed the story/gameplay quite a bit) 13, 12, and 11 (couldn't think of much of a reason to rank one higher than any other for these last three, but still feel like they're all great games with their own merits)
Anyway, I look forward to following the rest of Caleb's FF13 playthrough and all the future podcasts coming up. Having recently made a FF14 account, hopefully I'll be able to meet some of you guys in that game as well (haven't decided which server yet).

Hey guys, I'm Justin, and I have been a massive fan of the series for twenty years. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I love podcasts, and recently I thought that there must be a cool fan-based Final Fantasy podcast somewhere on the waves, and that's where I found Ultima. I haven't even bothered searching out other FF podcasts as this one is spot on. Joe and Kaleb are great, they imbue each episode with their love an passion for the games, and they have inspired me to go back and revisit the series with a fresh perspective. And in addition to that, they're piss-fucking funny My fave is Final Fantasy VII - hands down. I'm excited about the FFVII remake, and I will treat it as a new release and embrace it with the necessary fanboy love. The original is sacred to me and nothing could ever take that away, but I am glad that they are introducing the game to a brand new generation of fans. Drop me a line if you guys ever want to chat!

The first Ep listened to was the FFVII review, naturally, and have listened to all since then. I am now starting from the first episode
