Glad to be a a part of this. I've been listening to the podcasts since this summer and have really enjoyed what you guys have done with the concept. I'm really excited that you're moving on to the PS1 era games now, since that's where I started years ago.
Currently playing FFIV: Complete Collection on my new PS TV. It's my first time really trying to beat a SNES era game. I have to say that listening to your podcast has made me want to go back and play some of the classic games!

The NES era is the rough one for sure. SNES is where it gets awesome!

Mmm, I love me some cartridge blowing. I also love that during the good old days even though it says not to.

Hello everyone. Been listening to the podcast for a while but recently decided to join the forums.
Huge FF fan here. Also a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shin Megami Tensei and Super Smash Bros. game series. Favorite game genre would be JRPG (Japanese RPGs) but I play all kind of games. My favorite trinity of consoles is the SNES, PS1 and PS2. Those are unbeatable in terms of great games. My favorite less popular game systems are the Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and Nintendo Gamecube.
I've beaten all the main games (except for FF11 and FF14 I want to play those eventually) and the spinoffs and sequels too. I don't hate any of the main FF games even the ones considered black sheep of the series like FF2, FF8, FF12 and FF13.
My optimal FF party is Vivi, Cloud, Rydia, Edge and Tifa.
My favorite FF games in my personal tier ranking are:
Awesome Tier FF 5, 6, 7, 9 Great tier FF 1, 3, 4 good tier FF 8, 10, 13 ok tier FF 2, 12,
I love talking about FF so don't be shy to talk to me.

Its a bigger game than I thought. I mean I like it but I thought the art turned a lot of people away its one of the reasons I never beat it. Its a shallow reason I know but it was something that's hard to look past.

Its a shallow reason I know but it was something that's hard to look past. People really like 9 because it was Sakaguchi's idea and his last game at Square before he had to leave. The game is the most "fantasy" final fantasy game and it has hundreds of nods and references to previous FF games so the entire game was a celebration of classic Final Fantasy for the fans. After FF7 and FF8 some people missed the old FF style so this game brought back 4 party members, classes linked to characters like Black Mage, thief etc. and remixes of classic music like Gulg Mountain from FF1. Also returning classic FF bosses from the earlier games. Music was really good too.
