Hi there. Another Joseph here, all the way over in tropical Northern Ireland. Just found the podcast a couple of days ago. There aren't many FF podcasts out there, but this has quickly become my favourite. I like the laid back approach. Ive attempted to host a podcast in the past, but it always depends on the personalities whether it works. You guys do a great job. I'm a huge FF fan, especially 7. I first played it back in '97, but never found any other fans until I joined a site called AdventChildren.net. It was awesome finding people to nerd out with, and obsess over news about AC and the compilation of FF7. I am now a jaded 30 year old, but I still love FF. Even to the point of helping build thelifestream.net, which really goes out of their way to do things like translations, and interesting project, including my audiobooks, commentaries. THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT. Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled upon this site Thanks for joining! That's a really really good FF site, and it's cool to have you on.

Hey FFanatics! Loving this podcast so I thought I would join the forums. Final Fantasy VIII was my first RPG when I received a playstation and the game for my birthday. The only games I had played in the past were NHL or sports games so did not grasp the concept of memory cards, therefore I played the first few hours of FFVIII over and over until someone mentioned you can buy a memory card for $35. Anyways that's my origin story and of course VIII is still my favorite followed by IX which has an excellent score and enticing medieval theme. As for the podcast these guys have given me the nostalgic fix for the week now that time is limited to go back and play through these bad boys.
Thanks Ultima!

THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT. Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled upon this site Thanks for joining! That's a really really good FF site, and it's cool to have you on. Excellent, I'm not the only one from Northern Ireland here I found the podcast a month or two ago after googling FF podcasts and listening to one or two other ones that shall remain nameless. Needless to say, they were not as enjoyable as I find Ultima to be. I was introduced to Final Fantasy by way of my brother getting FF7 when it came out and pretty much watching him play the whole game numerous times. I'm now 25 and have played FF7, 8 and 9 as well as about an hour of X. Dabbled a bit in Dissidia. I have not actually completed 8 or 9 but have made it through them to the last discs. Same goes for Dirge of Cerberus (which I actually really enjoy). I'm currently playing through FF7 again (only now on PSP. Having always been a console player, with the exception of my first play of FF8 which was on P.C) after having listened to the 'cast on 7. I would not say that my love for the series has ever waned, but I have for sure had my active interest in it rekindled. Hell, I even have an unplayed copy of X-2 I'm considering playing through after 7. I think my love for the series was initially sparked because of the art style of the characters etc in FF7, I have a bunch of old drawings of characters I did when I was a young teenager. I'm a big fan of the series (despite my limited experience of the extensive series as a whole) and have developed an interest in Japanese anime's / manga as a result of this. Again, I really enjoy the show and am very happy there is a current podcast that I can be involved in and follow as it is being produced and released as opposed to listening to a static back-catalog. Now I'm on the forum I hope to get to know community members, be involved in discussions and generally just share the appreciation for this game series. Alice

Hello fellow Final Fantasy fans. I have been listening for a few days and decided to make a post and see what is going on with these forums.
After years of owning an iPhone and recently investing in an iPad, I finally decided to check out this whole podcast thing. I thought a bit about what I would like to listen to and I decided to put Final Fantasy in the search. Of the few that popped up, I randomly selected Ultima Final Fantasy and gave the Final Fantasy V episode a try as that was the game I was currently playing on my recently purchased iPad. Wow…
I have been playing Final Fantasy games since Final Fantasy VI came out on the SNES. I have fond memories of hanging out at my friend’s house playing that game on two player. I always controlled Sabin and Umaro because, well, I liked fighters and bigfoot. Having never owned a SNES, (my parents thought Sega Genesis was good enough) it was a few years before I had my taste of Final Fantasy again. I was at a cousin’s house and he let me play his Playstation. He only had a few games, but when I saw the words Final Fantasy, I freaked out and put it in. About a year later, when I got my first job, I took my very first paycheck, cashed it, drove immediately to Toy R Us and bought my first Playstation and a copy of Final Fantasy VII. From that day, I was officially a Final Fantasy fan.
I’ve put literally thousands of hours into final fantasy games throughout the years. I have played each game with the exception of XI and XIV. Final Fantasy VIII is, to this day, the most enjoyable game I ever played. I was 16 when that game came out and I connected with all of those characters in a way that I have never connected to video game character since. I know the junction system gets a whole lot of hate, but it was just perfect for a micromanager like me. The story was amazing. Characters were awesome. Eyes on Me was horrible, but I can overlook that.
I have not re-played any Final Fantasy with the exception of V which I just bought to give an honest to goodness play through, but your podcast has inspired me. I can’t say with honesty that I’ve got it in me to play from Final Fantasy forward, but I will finish my current run of V and play from there. I am about halfway through your episodes and I am eager to listen when I can. Keep up the show guys. This show has singlehandedly restored my faith in gamers by showing me that there are still fans of the series that shaped my identity as a gamer.

If you have a PSP I suggest you buy Final Fantasy 8 and 9 on the PSN store along with FF1-6 (they are all on the European PSN store) FF9 is a must play and the other FF games are a lot of fun too.

You couldn't have chosen a better episode. That one was actually the winner of the best episode of 2014. FFV is fantastic and I hope you have a great time playing it. if you like the micromanaging in FF8 then FF5 will be something you will surely like. Its a lot of fun to manage your jobs and abilities trying to make the best party in the game.

I've got FF9 on the PSP as well, but will not be playing it for a little bit. Completing 7 is my first port of call, with plenty of optionals I want to get too. I agree, FF9 from what I played of it was more enjoyable and likeable than 8 and is the one I would return to first. Also thanks for the welcome
