Where the guys (barely) weigh in under last week (due to some lead burritos) and then discuss Metallica, Megadeth, and other hidden gems.
*****
Your music discussions always make me want to dig through my old CDs or buy classics that I never picked up. I have heard Load, but was not impressed the first time I heard it. Based upon Kaleb's comments, though, I will give it a second chance. I still need to go back and listen to Godsmack IV since that got mention on several of the podcasts for a couple of weeks.
I saw Maiden supporting Fear of the Dark when I was a youngin. I had no idea who these Halford (could have been fight) or Soulfly characters who were touring with them were. When I was buying a drink or t-shirt or just milling around waiting for the real band, I heard them play. I was like: Wait, that sounds like Priest; Wait, that sounds like Sepultura. So, like an idiot, I missed my chance to see them. Though I did see Priest on their "farewell tour" before their latest album game out.
Speaking of Sepultura, did you guys ever listen to Nailbomb? I think their album came out before Soulfly. Another Cavalera brothers band. At least, I think both are in it.
I like how Getting PHAT is the banter before UFF. It makes UFF feel tighter as an episode. I would still like there to be more meat in Getting PHAT, though. Maybe something along the lines of what you guys did right or wrong during the week along your path to PHATNESS. Not just how you screwed up your diet here, but played basketball there (but definitely include this) - but also what you did for mental wellness or self-development (or the the types of things in your sub-forum PHAT Things). Hearing about what is challenging you and how you overcome it and your successes through the podcast keeps a record for you, but also may be inspiring to listeners. My two cents, bloated by inflation.
