A personal question more then anything else what are 5 things you would consider Hobbies other then the podcast itself. Love to hear other forum members hobbies as well as helps to get to know people.
Mine would be -Watching Japanese Kaiju Films(Old and New) -Drinking (Rum as well as a big fan of a lot of Imported beers preferably Sapporo, Asashi, Corona, and a few more local craft brews) -RPGS JRPGS (Love almost everyone i have played but lately lack the time to actually play them) -Manga/Anime (Used to be really into it but lately less and less time enjoyed series such as Dragon Ball Z, DeathNote, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Claymore, Samuria Deeper Kyo, Love Hina, etc.... basically love everything i find. -Classic Muscle Cars (looking to purchase a project car soon maybe a 1970 era Mustang or mabey even a Fox Body style 1989 Mustang as i really love the box body style and it is fairly easy to work on.
That about it for me what about the rest of you?

Reading Epic Fantasy or rereading old favorites. Trying to get into some book clubs since I have virtually no face-to-face contact with other adults. Looking over old RPG hardcovers and pretending that one day I will play again. Catching up on old TV shows that I never got to watch when I worked a bunch. Always doing something with my daughter: Zoo, Gymboree, Reading, Wagon, Walking Experimenting with Sci Fi books Occasionally getting time to play a JRPG when everyone is asleep and if I still have energy.

Right now my hobby is fixing my fence so my dog doesn't murder all the wildlife in the area.
After that I've been writing/illustrating, building a small installation piece, making furniture, masochisticly enough preparing for eVolo, whenever everyone is asleep or doing their own thing playing a game until someone starts crying, and playing toy cars with my son even if he just puts them in his mouth and slobbering on them.
I wish I would get into more books. I just finished the Giver series that I never finished in grade school and Fahrenheit. I have Dante's Divinium that I would like to start reading soon.

Yay books! I was always a huge reader, and then I worked at a bookstore for 3 years and amassed quite the collection. I'll read anything except for mystery or romance. For my fellow readers here, if fantasy is your thing, check out The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I've yet to meet a single person that doesn't like the series. I also dabble in art, seeing as how I went to school for graphic design, although that's waned in recent years. Anime and SciFi/Fantasy shows are also big interests, although I've gotten picker as I've gotten "older"- I don't really watch TV beyond Netflix and Hulu,so unless any current shows are phenomenal, I'm probably behind the times. Since I moved to Pittsburgh a year and a half ago, I've been going to more concerts and conventions. I actually feel I have too many hobbies sometimes, and am spreading myself too thin. Then I try to eliminate something and my heart breaks. This is also why children are absolutely out of the question

Rothfuss hates Vanilla. I just started using Twitter for news and he loves to randomly come on and start smack. He threatened to delete Book 3 rather than let it fall into the hands of Vanilla-Eaters.
TV: Yep, Netflix and el cheapo hulu and crunchyroll get me through TV. It also saves us over a hundred bucks a month by not having cable. There is also YouTube or even broadcast TV to watch. Sure, I am behind on a lot of stuff coming out now, but I do have a child so I do have to say good bye to a lot of hobbies. With the money we save on not having cable, we can usually pick up seasons of shows we really want to watch.

5 hobbies!?!?!? Every new hobby I pick up cuts into my game time so I try and keep them limited Seriously though: - Hockey (watching it, playing it, talking about it), probably because I'm Canadian. - Poker (preferably with friends or in a casino, but I play online a lot) - Guitar (though I don't play nearly as much as I used to) - Running/exercising - Movies, movies, movies

Now if there were more hours in the day to pursue them all...Ha, actually no because then the work hours would probably be stretched. I don't need more excuses for me to work late.

I used to playHold'Em with friends, but the group fell apart when me all moved. I just play on Pokerstars, but I'm not sure if it still works in America. It's definitely the biggest, most maintained site there is with games that range from pennies to the tens of thousands. I usually just play fairly low stakes tournaments ($20-40$ buy ins) which usually last a few hours. I've definitely made some money here and there but usually it's just for fun.

I should add that playing online is fairly different from playing with your buddies or at a casino. It's generally a lot more methodical, since you can't see/interact with the other players to the same extent. There are still certain reads you can get on people, but obviously you don't have to worry about things like poker faces, shaking hands, etc.

When I get a good hand I start laughing. ....this is made worse when alcohol is in the picture.

My friends told me my tells, so I basically use them to bluff now.

I can go to local gaming stores to play board games or RPGs, but the whole reason I started doing all that was to hang out with friends. Definitely not the same, but it helped me realize that I am not hardcore into the games - rather they are a vehicle to socializing with buddies. Now they are used to meet new people in the area.
