What is the worst final fantasy in your opinion? My least favorite FF has to be Tactics.(sorry to everyone who loves that game) its not bad, its just different. I dont like that battle style. Now please tell me yours!

I would say the MMO games, but I haven't played them. So I'll go with the game closest to an MMO and say FF12. The battle system ruined the game for me.

You know XII has got to be the most divisive FF game. People really like it or they hate it. I get that it deviated from the traditional combat system, but I really liked that. I played that game after I had spent years on MMOs though, so maybe that is it.
Plus, you know, Fran... Seriously guys, Fran.
I was not a fan of the early games. They are fun for the nostalgia factor, but really play those games and tell me they are good games. I dare you.

I didn't like Tactics either- then again, RTS games are not my strong point. If we're just going with the main entries, and not spin offs- I'd have to say XII or XIII. I haven't even finished XII though, so I can't really say- maybe actually finishing it would help. I also didn't play XI or XIV- I've always felt that FF was a journey you took alone- that, and way too much time running around with the Horde in WoW made me swear off MMORPGs forever. Anything and everything to do with XIII though, with the exceptions of Fang and the battle system, was terrible. An overly convoluted plot and sweet graphics do not make up for lame characters and a story that I don't care about.
Now that my post has become convoluted- I'm going to give XII the benefit of the doubt and say it can't be worse than XIII. XIII y u do dis. Y u suck so bad.

The SNES games have held up much better, and I would easily put all three of them above FF12. I'm clearly not an MMO fan so take everything I say about FF12 with a grain of salt. I gave it a try though, finished the game and all the hunts and still didn't like it.

My least favorite is FF2 but i don't consider it a bad game, just the least fun ;-)Haven't played 13 14 and too little of 11 to judge them.

Aw, Tactics is actually my favorite FF game! Least favorite is probably 2 though, not a bad game, but I find that I would almost always rather play 1 than 2.

Fucking 1. The original nes version of the game is hardly playable. 2 at least had a story, and the gameplay was improved in 3.

FFXI was my least favorite. It's one of the only Final Fantasy games that I actively dislike. It was so frustrating and un-intuitive.

I never played the nes version always stuck to the orgins version as i heard nothing good about the original lol. The fact that random battle happens in a set way in a set pattern is neat, but the fact that you can have guys swinging into open space unless your paying attention nonstop sucks. Also the graphics i saw for the original aren't my cup of tea.

For me, it's a tie between the two Final Fantasy games that I started but never finished: Final Fantasy VIII for the battle system and Final Fantasy XIII for... being boring, I guess.

Right now I'd say II or XIII for me. I'm coming around a bit on XII.

LOL to everyone saying a main FF game as the worst FF.
You all need to play some of the spinoffs there are some pretty bad ones listed that are far worse than anything listed in this topic.
Some people hate
Mystic Quest FF Tactics Advance or A2 FF 4 Heroes of Light FF4 The After Years Dirge of Cerberus FFXII Revenant Wings Chocobo Tales DS Crystal Chronicles Crystal Bearers Wii
Then all the exclusive only for mobile games are pretty bad too with a few exceptions.

I thought we were only talking main series. If spin offs are included- Dirge of Cerberus was probably my least favorite.
