So if anyone else has read the Hunger Games, yes, I totally stole the title for this thread from the books. "Hollow Days" are those days when no matter what you eat, you're still starving. Doesn't matter if you ate really well or ate barely anything at all, you're basically starvin' marvin. Kinda having one of those days today- I have eaten a ton of delicious, healthy noms, and it just isn't cutting it. The solution I've come up with is to make a metric fuck-ton (yes, that's a thing) of air-popped popcorn and hope it works. And then maybe pickles. I wonder what causes this? Maybe a caloric deficit from combined previous days? It's certainly not the munchines...must research this!
First world problems.

Pickles are my bane. I can eat a jar no problem. Especially those spicy spears in the refrigerator section at the market.

Body might be trying to tell you that you have some kinda mineral or vitamin deficiency, try mixing up your diet a bit more. I tend to get the same feeling if i avoid citrus or other fruit for too long usually an orange will help the craving assuming that may mean a vitamin C deficiency or something to the nature. Either way enjoy the popcorn :-) got to be my favorite snack

I have to pull something from my near pointless psych degree.
When the body is deficient in a certain nutrient, foods containing that nutrient will taste better. The flavor will be more intense. I also tend to notice this with vitamin c. I generally don't get enough and when I do, I tend to slam some OJ.

I had heard about the craving-whichever-nutrient-you're-missing before, but didn't know it extended to even making that food taste more intense! That's pretty sweet. I used this info yesterday to justify getting an elk burger. I hardly ever eat red meat- maybe twice a month- and decided to hit up a Burgatory. Apparently, elk burgers are a thing, and they are "the Cadillac of red meat." It was delicious btw, and if you haven't been to a Burgatory, wtf are you doing with your life.

My hollow days occur when I try to eat healthy all day. My body keeps telling me I have not had any food because I have not eaten anything that I usually eat. A cherry coke or roy rogers will usually shut it up.
