So everybody has there own opinion of which of the series are the best and the worst.
Personally for me, 7 is the best. 10 and 10-2 are the worst.
But my idea for a future episode is: Fix your worst games hosts.
One host per episode tries to re-write, add or take away game features in regards to their least favorite FF game and then try and pitch the new version of the game to the other host.

X and X-2 as the worst? Wow, that's definitely the first time I've heard someone say that. I feel like the most common worsts I hear are II, III, XII, and XIII. Maybe IX if someone was super put off by the goofy design and throw back feel. But now I'm curious- what didn't you like about the world of X?

Actually I do quite like the world of X it's beautiful, and always had fun playing Blitzball. However the story-line (which is what I look for most in an FF) was just ridiculous. I couldn't get behind it at all and it really put me off the game which then dropped it to last place on my list. Correction second to last, X-2? ... I'd rather not bring back the memories of how bad that game was.

That being said, I think it was definitely unique, although it did have a few spots where everything didn't add up. Was definitely more fleshed out and immersive than earlier installments of the series. Do you have a best to worst list? I'm curious as to what else falls near the bottom of it.

Hmm... so to fix XIII, basically I would start by scrapping everything expect for the title and go from there.

Yeah lol FFX is considered one of the better ones and the music alone makes it one of the better FFs. X-2 isn't really a main series games so if you have that then you have to put FF4 The After Years, FF7 Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, X-2, FFX12 Revenant Wings and 13-2 and 13-3 and X-2 isn't the worst of those either. The lesser FF game favorites are FF2, FF8 and FF12 and FF13. Those games usually divide the fandom in various opinions. BUT I think that even the "ok" ish FF games are way better than like most of the games that come out lol. I would play FF2 or FF8 any day before playing some of the bad games that are available. Even the worst FF games still get a decent rating from me unlike stuff like Superman 64 or ET on Atari

Banedrom made a really good point when this came up in discussion- if VII has a hype train, then X-2 has a hate train. I adore X-2 for a lot of reasons. Among those reasons are the job system, the soundtrack, the mission style game play....and Yuna in hot pants.

I guess if I am quoted from discussion I should contribute.
My name is banedrom and I liked Final Fantasy X-2. I also enjoyed XIII-2, but that's neither here nor there. In fact, there isn't a final fantasy that I straight up didn't like.
I never quite understood the butthurt I have heard about X-2. Annoying Shoujo-esque game? I didn't think it was so bad. Horrible songs? I didn't think the soundtrack was so bad. Ruining the pristine story of FFX? Not hardly.
This game had a lot going for it. Not only was the job system a great idea, but it was implemented smoothly and was a really fun part of the gameplay. Consider that last interaction between Yuna and Tidus in FFX. what would that do to someone on an emotional level? I wanted to know what happened afterwards and X2 scratched that itch.

I agree with all you people. Sorry sublyte but I think FFX has one of the most touching stories of any video game I've ever played. And banedrom that's a good point about the emotional level thing. Most people would just assume everything was dandy with Yuna after that, but we find out that she just pretended everything was dandy. Really good point. And in a way the actual story of X-2 was sadder than X with the whole Shuyin plot. I'm excited to see what the hosts have to say when they get to it. However, I think your idea for future episodes is a pretty original one for sure. I think they kind of do this already in their reviews, like "If FFVIII's draw system wasn't so tedious and the leveling system so messed up then this game could have been just fantastic". Stuff like that. I still think VIII is fantastic, but the draw system is a major drag. But yeah good idea. Probably wouldn't encompass an entire episode though but they could do multiple at a time. And I don't know if it would be fair to do FF 1-3 because, well I think it's obvious. Just curious though sublyte, did you actually finish FFX? I just can't wrap my mind around you finding the story ridiculous, when in your favorite game a silver haired man telepathically controls people and plans to sit in a big hole in the ground until he becomes a god. I love both games, I'm just saying between 6-10 I think the premise of 7 is the most ridiculous.

I agree with Chocobchica and Banedrom. X-2 has a really cool battle system and it has a return of the job system which is great. People complain that X-2 ruined the story of X but I view X and the sequel as almost two different continuities. If you like X you can keep that story standalone and if you don't like X-2 you can say its a sidestory that isn't canon. Kinda how like there are FF7 fans like myself that only consider the original FF7 canon and all the spinoffs and sequel stuff as a "what if" story.
People complain about X-2 ruining Yuna when in fact she wasn't really herself in X and wasn't who she wanted to be. Basically since she was a child she always lived her life for others and didn't have time to just chillout and have fun she had no real childhood. So in X-2 the world is saved from Sin and she has free time to finally be a girl and have fun and try to experience everything she missed out on.
The game doesn't take itself too seriously and it does some things better than X in having really hard extra bosses, great final dungeons and really funny goofy moments.
Plus the true ending to X-2 is really nice...

I happen to love X-2. It was a follow up to one of my most favorite pastimes. BLITZBALL!!!!! MAN I LOVE THAT SPORT. I am also a sucker for YRP. And man the dress spheres were a sight to behold. I have a poster with yuna in her gunner outfit in HOT PANTS!! <--- common who doesn't love the sight of that. The story was great and a very well done ending for giving yuna closure. The only thing I wanted to figure out is the backstory of PAINE. Every girl band needs a hot goth chick in it so She belongs In The story don't get me wrong I just have no idea how she got to meet yuna and rikku. A side story about that would Be nice. I also don't see why many people "present company excluded" do not like the pop and technojazz of x and x2. I personally love listening to either of these sound tracks on a loop. Specifically the BLITZBALL!!!! music. That is what I think of ffx2.

Then I realized that through doing that I ruined my chances of playing the aurochs and the abes. So of course I did a new game plus and 100% it. However I always had to mute it for blitzball because you have to turbo through those training sessions and that incessant beeping drove me insane. Boy I kinda wanna play this again though. Might have to buy the ps4 version
