FF13 is being currently played but I think it would be nice to just have a heads up for a date when you will probably be starting FFXIV just so we can all start planning for it. Would be nice to know what server you guys are going to be playing on too (heard good things about the Odin server having all the English players)
Will you guys be playing FFXIV on PS4, PC or PS3 (not recommended) its cross play among systems so everyone can still play together. The PS4 version is considered very easy to use because of Dualshock 4 controller support and the ability to connect a keyboard or mouse to your ps4 as well.
Sadly unlike FFXI, the FFXIV servers are region locked so Japanese players can't play with North American or European/Australian players and EU/AU players can't play on NA or JP servers. FFXI had region free shared servers but FFXIV does not. This means any of the listeners that are from EU/AU or JP regions will not really be able to play with the hosts that will be in the NA region. Just thought I would mention that.
NOTE: the only way an EU/AU or JP player can play with NA gamers is if they buy an American copy of FFXIV and play it on their system. After the first 30 day free trial though it becomes hard to pay for the subscription if you are in another country so unless you can find those (American version) 60 day game time cards or something you won't be able to play anymore.
How do you guys feel about Square Enix region locking the servers this time around? Did you prefer FFXI having gamers from all around the world?

I'm definitely going with the PS4 version- neither my PC or laptop is up to snuff for XIV. I never played XI, but region locking is kind of lame....

I'm debating on buying this game to play with the UFF team... I would rather it be on the PS4 but I could easily do a PC version too. Few factors for me to play.. First, I'm not a MMO fan, but I'd play if I can be part of a team. Second, I have to finish moving to have game room put back together before I can go any gameing (THIS DAMN HOUSE NEEDS TO SELL LOL) We'll see

I will definitely be on the PC version. If you don't have a PS 4 in which to buy the game to play you can put a PS3 controller onto your computer and play that way for controller style if you're not OK with keyboard style.

Well, it is just annoying that I have to buy it again... But Kaleb and Joe will only play the main story and not Heavensward right? I have a gmail.com email and I get 30 days free so.. Gonna investigate the price lol And when I get online on the us server POOF ''' you have been banned''. The US price is higher, 19.99 but here it is only 9.99 and the 30 days on the eu square enix site and steam.

Wow it's that cheap in Europe. Hopefully your email will work I know about 10 ppl from London on my main server balmung so the chances are high that you will get through. Hopefully you can get very far in the story maybe 30 days is enough to complete the 2.0 story line with the gang

* Waves the swedish flag* Region lock!? Oh dang it.. * Throws it away* I really like that FF 11 is region free. United we stand... In FF 11 at least You can still try to pick up an American copy of the game either buying a digital version online or a physical copy and having it shipped to your house. Its much easier if you have a console since you can just create a new account and buy the game on the American psn store. 30 days free gives you enough time to finish the main FFXIV story if you play everyday. As far as banning you because you aren't in America doesn't happy, I know many Americans living in Japan that are playing with American copies so they can play with their friends in America.

I'll be playing on PS4. I mean my laptop is built for gaming but I never use it that way, don't wanna burn it up with over use. I've never played XIV, my first MMO, I can't wait until we start deciding on jobs. I have an idea which way I want to go but we'll see how it goes.

I'm on XIV now on PS4, I know it's really easy to communicate with the keyboard but I find it even better with the PS4 party chat. I'm sure PC has it's advantages and depending how powerful your PC is I'm sure everything is pretty much enhanced but the communication part was big for me, especially since I'm a noob to mmo.
