Who taught you how to shave? Female listeners feel free to answer, too.
I had to learn on my own. I remember playing with my grandpa's razor and cutting my finger as a kid. So when it came time to shave, I would only use an electronic razor.
I probably shaved in high school, but not regularly. It was not until I got a job at 16 that I started shaving daily.
I started shaving with an actual razor and cream when samples where given away during my first week at a university.
Actual Questions: How did you learn to shave? When did you start and why? Do Universities still give out samples of stuff during the first week of Fall classes?

It wasn't until I was older that i picked up some tricks of the trade from my dad. I didn't have much facial hair at all by any means. But for some reason I was embarrassed at that age that I had hair that would grow on the mustache area. And I just didn't want it their. So I stole a razor from my dad but I didn't have shaving cream so I used lotion...i got some horrible razor burn. I didn't start legitimately HAVING to shave till I was about 17

My dad showed me when I was 12. I had a very peachy face (blonde peach too...) so I thought I'd get started. Fortunately/unfortunately my facial hair really hasn't sped up in the 10 years since then. But I absolutely loathe shaving so I'm not complaining. And yes when I was at Ohio State they had a fair the first week of school each year where you walk away with just loads of stuff. I don't remember if there was shaving cream, but I know there's a bunch of shirts and coupons. And plants too actually. I have 3 plants I got at the beginning of my 2nd year that are still alive 3 years later.

Never straight up soap but have used conditioner/shampoo when I ran out of cream. Surprisingly worked alright especially the conditioner. But I'm sure normal hand soap would be horrible tho

I think I was 13. No one taught me. I don't think I started using cream until the start of high school. And I shaved every day. Side note, for Halloween one year during high school I shaved my legs, which was a hellish process. I destroyed my knees and I never had the urge to do it again. I don't know how women do it consistently, granted I'm hairy than the majority of women, but it's time consuming regardless.
