I noticed two entries in the Final Fantasy Tactics section. There was one entry for Tactics and one entry for Tactics: War of the Lions. I was under the impression that they are the same game. I think Balthier appears in War of the Lions in some fashion, but it was my understanding the the main quest is the same.
Are they different games?
Are you going to play both versions and do an episode for each?

As far as I know they are the same game, I know WoL has a Black Knoght job class that I'm not sure was in Tactics. Sony suckered me into buying a couple PSP games that I thought were new games by changing the title, but it turns out they were the same damn games.

FF Tactics refers to the original game, FF Tactics: War of the lions is the digital remastered version released. The new version had 2 new job classes, Dark knight and Onion knight, as well as bonus special characters and a rebalanced cloud to make him less godly unfortunately. But other than new video and better looking graphics the story and everything else in the game is exactly the same as the original.

So I am not crazy then. I played both, and I did not recall any real difference. Can the two forum subtopics be combined into one then? That way discussions of the different versions of the same game can be in the same place. There are no separate subtopics for the different versions of 4. I guess I am not crazy, but I am anal :-)

Either way both versions have long loading times. both physical or digital ps1 or psp versions.
funny that the re release on the iOS app store loads fast. If you guys have an iPad you might want to try this version although it is touch controls but a tactics type game isn't very control heavy.
btw FF fans made a mod patch for the psp version so it loads faster. You need cfw to install it though.

I don't recall the load times being too long but then again that sort of thing never bothered me too much anyway. If you download it as a PSOne classic there are often settings that will increase the load time, though not always for every game.

^sadly changing settings like that won't do anything. Square actually put loading times into the games' code. Even the PSP version kept the slow loading even though it was possible to remove it. This is one of the few cases that loading times are forced into all versions of the game.
Its still playable but you will notice when you want to grind and level up and turns and battles take forever.

Interesting fact about the load times. I guess it's like the button at the cross walk; it's just there to make you feel like it's going to change faster.

The wait time is really just to help ration you.

Not all light buttons are a placebo, I know late at night and especially pedestrian crossings are actually controlled by them to free up traffic flow when three are no people.

As much as I love the original game, I feel like war of the lions added more to the experience. When the time comes which version do you guys think the guys should play?
