My favorite thing about final fantasy is the battle systems and the magic systems. I loved materia in ff7, I liked the idea of junction system in ff8, although I didn't like ff5 the job system was pretty awesome and it brought forth ff tactics. Now if you haven't played FF Tactics it has a 3d battlefield with different elevations and terrains each character takes up a spot on the grid, this allows for some awesome and really fun gameplay options and combined with a job system that was refined and perfected from 3 and 5. So Basically I want a game as perfect as tactics using the same system and maybe an added system of materia to add special powers to weapons and armor. FF Tactics also had an awesome easter egg of Cloud from ff7 to be a playable character, and in tactics war of the lions you can get Balthier from ff12, and luso from ff tactics A2 as well. In my dream tactics I feel like adding more characters like that would be awesome.

To me, the ability/magic system can make or break a game. Although I really liked FFVIII, that was one of the worst magic systems ever! The magic wasn't really used they way it was intended (as in spells you would want to cast), instead it was used to strengthen your party members attributes. By casting each spell you could potentially decrease your characters attributes depending on whether it was junctioned. I really liked the ability/magic system in FFIX. Each weapon and armor piece had an ability or magic that could be used while the item was equipped, but if you fought enough battles you could learn them permanently. Then you had the option of customizing which abilities to have equipped on each character as you played through the different parts of the game.

Yeah 9 had a really interesting one. 8 could have been better were it not for the drawing and the limit on the spells. The spells they used could have been the ones junctioned or what the GFs attached knew.
