I may be dating myself, but I have great memories of playing The Legend of Zelda for a long long time trying to explore the map. You knew you were far from home when you started running into the centaurs...
When Zelda came to the N64, it was one of the most beautiful games of the era. The boss fights in that game are epic.

Doing pretty good so far. I was so scared of the Water Temple from hearing about how hard it is since forever that I played it with a guide on stand by for when I got lost. So I made it through and got to the Shadow Temple, which was a lot harder for me. Not only was I forced to use my first bottled fairy for the whole play through during that boss fight, but the first time I fought him he took one red potion and two fairies and I STILL died. Thankfully I beat him on my second encounter, but that was the hardest boss fight so far for me.

Golden is a great port/upgrade of p4. I still havent beat it though.. I figured I would play it once to the end, then go back with a guide and pick up anything I missed in new game plus. I know there is an extra month of S Link time, but I am way behind in building relationships.

Speaking of Zelda, I just started Majoras Mask on 3DS. Me too! Definitely my favorite Zelda game. Ocarina of Time will always have a special place in my heart, but Majoras Mask is so different, unique, and fun to play its hard not to put it at the top of the list of best zelda games. Plus it looks amazing on the 3DS!

Have you ever played majoras mask? It's the one game I would suggest a guide for, especially if you've already played it. There is a lot you can miss in this game if you're not careful.

Previous to OoT, I've played Four Swords, but never beat it. So I'm what you'd call a "Zelda Newbie". Mainly the problem being that with each video game generation, I bought the Sony console, and Zelda's exclusive to the Nintendo consoles. But I would like to catch up. Right now I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Wii or save up for a Wii U.

The beautiful thing about Nintendo is that they actually support backwards compatibility and people playing their older games on newer systems, so if you were to buy a Wii U, you would have access to a large amount of the Zelda games going all the way back to the first one.
