I tried to follow HabitRPG, but my fear with programs like that is that it becomes a thing to do instead of actual habits. Instead, I have a spreadsheet where I track certain things. I make ticks on scratch paper as the day goes by and keep track of how often I do certain activities. How often I do them is more important to me than actually doing them. HabitRPG gets you to do things, but it does not tell me how many times I have done them.
My first list kept track of almost everything. My current list is split into Consuming and (not necessarily versus) Producing. I may separate it further and split Relationships/Social stuff from Producing.
I also keep track of money I didn't spend during the day. It's funny how watching that number grow is sometimes more satisfying than grabbing fast food on the way home. Several times I have skipped fast food during the week and instead spent the money getting ribs on the weekend. I end up eating healthier, spending less money, and usually spending time with someone instead of eating alone in the car. Plus I get to see it all on paper who it works out.
