So, listening to your ffviii podcast, you say something you hated about the magic system was not being able to get rid of your lower level magic like "scan" when you didn't want it anymore. Why didn't you just discard it? There is an option that allows you to just toss them away without having to switch them to someone else.

I always just leveled it up with the mid/high magic-refine abilities. Cleared a lot of space that way.

I always maxed out each new better magic as I came across each enemy. Caused the running out of space very early in the game and learning of the discard option.

Some spells are easily discarded as you progress. Like once you get access to Blizzaga, Blizzard and Blizzara sort of become redundant.
