Videogames and movies are my 2 favorite things ever and I could go on for hours talking about them. Nice to see that Joe is that kind of guy too.
I agree that Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions should be seen as one movie. With that being said I really like all the Matrix films including the collections of animated shorts in Animatrix too. I'm biased though since I'm too much of a Matrix fan I guess. I understand some people don't really like the later films but in my opinion they are pretty solid I just think people had a different idea where they wanted the story to go after the first film.
Also Kill Bill vol 1-2 are great films can't wait for the upcoming 3rd film.
on topic with trilogies you should have brought up Lars von Trier's depression trilogy lol or Richard Linklater's "Before" trilogy which has Julie Delpy from the Three Colors trilogy in it. Vengeance trilogy (Oldboy) is also quite good as well as the Internal Affairs trilogy which is what inspired the movie The Departed.
Lord of the Rings and Toy Story trilogies are very solid but I've seen the Bourne trilogy on lots of top trilogy lists of the last decade it usually ranks really high.

I just finished the episode. I think that the idea of a trilogy is too much. There is way too many movies that are stretched into a pair of movies or into trilogies for all of the wrong reasons and not enough that are simply stories too big to be completed in a single movie.
This episode was a deviance from the standard forumula, but it was yet another solid entry. Good stuff guys.

This episode was a deviance from the standard forumula, but it was yet another solid entry. Good stuff guys. I partially think trilogies cater to obsession in a way. When the first movie comes out, it usually is the best one of the series. People buy the movie. Then the second one comes out and is usually the worst overall (very rarely is it better) and people reluctantly buy the second because of the first. The third one overcompensates because of the second and has a lot of action and hardly any story. It's horribly reviewed but people still buy it to complete the trilogy. These are generalizations but it's what I've observed. Trilogies are money makers. Then they release the box set with all of this extra stuff that somehow magically appeared and was not included before that costs around a $100 to buy...

Has anyone else seen the Cube trilogy? Cube, Cube 2, and Cube Zero? I think they were made in the early 2000s, kind of like a mix between scifi and horror. One of my favorite actors from Stargate Atlantis is in them- I would definitely recommend giving them a watch.

The 'Before' trilogy is amazingly real.
