I know FF6 was awhile ago, but here's another trick to make those tough battles much easier. Have Cyan in your party and use his level 2 swordtech skill "retort" which is a counterattack skill. Next, have one of your characters cast imp on Cyan. After Cyan has successfully been imped, you need to one-shot kill him with one of your party members, either by using a spell or a power physical attack. Now you can revive Cyan either with an item or magic. Here's the fun part: Cyan will go into a frenzy, and begin attack the enemy. The thing is he does not stop attacking! He will just continue to attack non-stop until all the enemies have been wiped out, which includes some of the games harder bosses like Omega and Atma weapons.

I know this works on the SNES version, but did they fix it for the GBA and mobile versions?

Pretty sweet never even heard about this one :-)
