I am surprised by how much I am enjoying this game. Like Joe, I tend to be behind in my console gaming. I got the first of these music games for 20 bucks last year and, similar to puzzle games, just found hours disappearing from my life. This new one is a bit odd to me, though. It has songs from games that have not been released yet. I have a chance to use characters I have never seen before. I love my turn-based combat, so I am not in any hurry to get the new FF games. If the soundtracks get my attention though, I may find myself buying a PS4 soon.

I'm really enjoying this game too. I downloaded the first game on iOS so I was already familiar with the gameplay when it came out. BTW, I am listening to the Religion episode of the podcast and Caleb said that he wishes there was a multiplayer mode. There is an absolutely awesome PvP mode in this game! I tried it out the first time the other day with a friend who has the game and we ended up playing for hours. On each 3DS you can see your party vs standard enemies, but the enemies attacks are actually based off of the other player's score in the game and vice versa. The best part about this mode is that they added a "limit break" for scoring enough "great" and "critical" hits. These limit breaks can really F up your game. There is one which begins spinning all of the triggers on the screen, making it difficult to correctly enter the right input for the directional triggers. One limit break makes it to where any score other than a "critical" will be counted as a "bad," one makes it so you can't see what the trigger will be until right before you have to input it, one makes the speed go super fast, and one makes the speed on each line go at varying speeds which throws the timing off. The best part about this is that it can totally swing the battle for or against you, making it anyones game at any point! There are also "collectacard" rewards at the end of the battle, where the victor is given a quick sneak peak of two out of three cards and gets to choose the first one. The loser is only given the opportunity to peak at one card, but they have to choose second, and the winner then gets the remaining card.

I. Love. Theatrhythm. Lol!
I'm actually going to see Distant Worlds: Final Fantasy in London on Saturday (1st Nov)! So excited!
The music in Final Fantasy is one of my favourite things about the series. I know of no one that hasn't at one point shed a tear at To Zanarkind knowing what it means in Final Fantasy X.
Having ALL the music in one place it great! I use it almost like a Final Fantasy loaded iPod for music!
A final point, on the latest episode, Religion in Final Fantasy, you guys said it would be great to have a pvp type thing in it, well Curtain Call does! It's more like the dance dance pro you mentioned in that it is based on score rather than fighting each other, but the better you play, you fill up an 'EX' bar that when full will make the other players game harder like marks moving at different speeds or only allowing critical hits. I've played a few and it's pretty great! Just need more friends to play with. ^^,

I dont think a song or even a game has ever made me cry. It takes a special kind of movie to do that to me like My Neighbor Totoro, or the ending scene of Dark Knight Rises.

I'm telling you guys that you need to set up a Wishlist so we can send you games to play or equipment you may need for podcasting. I need to stop posting about 3DS games. Each of my posts seems to whet your appetite.

With the first game, I got songs left and right, but not now. I have even passed people who have the game listed as the one they are currently playing, but no little green light shows up for me next to the game icon.

I had the same problem. A friend of mine who has the game too had to show me how to activate the streetpass. The first thing he did was go to the mii plaza to make sure streetpass was activated. After that he went into the game and had me go into "create proficard." This is where I made an account that could connect with other players. Try this first and let me know if it doesn't work.

I know, I am weird like that, though. I would rather buy the game and have it shipped to you guys. That way I know you guys are getting the games and not using the money to buy scrotum piercings.
I just noticed on a podcast I used to be associated with (or may be still be?) that the wish list got used more. People would buy cables, mikes, and beer for the show - but would rarely send money. I know I am more likely to buy you Bravely Default for 20 bucks (or this game when there is a price drop because I am a cheap bastard) because we had a conversation about it or one of the other games because I know the guys are going to be playing it soon, than I am to wire the 20 bucks. Even though it makes no difference on my wallet. Human psychology right?
Oh, since you guys are thinking of a book podcast, I noticed the same thing about a book podcast I listen to. People line up to buy books on kindle for the hosts (and to shell out money for charity), but hardly hit the donate to the show button.

Well if your really willing to send us stuff I'm not gonna stop you. If you wanna send us stuff just email us so our address isn't public. Just make sure to tell us who you are in the title so we don't mistake it for spam. As for the book club one we read/listen via audible but we could easily setup an account on kindle or nook.

This list of wishes shall be worked on. As for listening to the book rather than reading it? I consider it blasphemous to the cause!

This list of wishes shall be worked on. As for listening to the book rather than reading it? I consider it blasphemous to the cause! I don't know if it is the easiest way, but what we did was share an Amazon wish list with the community. People could buy the items directly, then Amazon would ship it the lead guys house. No one ever knew an address. But the private email thing works, too. I think a couple fans did that for our podcast and a few others I have listened to.
