I live in California, and we are facing some new, tighter water restrictions. I live in an HOA where I don't pay for water (or rather I pay too much for water rolled into flat rate). I don't see the troughs and peaks of my monthly water usage because I do not get a bill. But I have tried to follow the new restrictions all the same. I have also tried to analyze how I use (abuse?) water at home.
Does your state or locale have water-use regulations?
What kind of water-saving habits have you adopted (successfully or unsuccessfully) or would like to adopt?
It has been ages since I let the water run when brushing my teeth. I think that was beaten out of me early as a kid. I have tried to be more cautious of it during hand-washing. I've also gotten into the habit of turning the water off while I am in the shower. I also don't wash my car that often, but that is just laziness.
I have not gone so far as to let urine build up in the toilet, but I know that is not uncommon.

My best friend lives in Cali, and he was telling me about the water restrictions too- I also saw in the news that the snowpack level is down to 0. 0%. Not good. Not trying to get political on here...but Nestle and the frakking companies make me super angry. Priorities, people. Citizens shouldn't have to choose between laundry or bathing their kids while billion dollar companies siphon off resources for their own greedy gain. As for PA- I don't know about things state wide, but here in Pittsburgh we actually have a problem with too much water when it rains. Long story short, the sanitation system built in the 40's doesn't measure up to the Clean Water Act from the EPA, so new billion dollar tanks are needed. Allegheny County is not happy, and the place I work at is right in the center of the anger storm.
......I feel bad for Cali. Wasn't there a huge oil spill on the coast recently too?

Floridas has a drought for awhile or at least my area of it think he have or had restrictions for 5 years(not sure if it is still going actually), an official actually told us a good way to save water is to pee in the shower.

I need to start paying attention to the news again. I just learned about that oil spill right now reading this thread.

Everyone in Cali should do a rain dance and sing along like the one in the video. The rain would come for sure then
