Never played 13 so i can't vouch for it and i did really like 12 as i though the gambit system was pretty fun and easy to use. From what I now 12 apparently gives way more freedom in the game to travel and explore then 13(which from what i hear happens later in the game) and since the exploration element in these games in one of my favorite things to do going to have to go with 12.
Of course this is with no experience in 13 just from what i heard so that may change when i play it.

^Ha. I really hope any talk of politics stops with that. It really wouldn't be good for the forum. Anyways, I refrained from voting because I look at both of these games with equal disdain. Can you create a 3rd invisible option like in FFVIII where you get bahamut? I had to. All I know is escalation. If there was a third hidden option, that would definitely be the one I would've picked. |

FFXII had Vaan... and Matsuno couldn't finish his masterpiece and it was plagued with problems. It would have been great but its not as good as it could have been.
FFXIII only received hatred after it came out and was well reviewed by everyone receiving 9/10 and 10/10 reviews from many sites and fans alike. The game and everything was NOT plagued with problems during development and I'd say it has better music than XII and I enjoyed the fast paced strategic gameplay and the story made more sense to me.
13 is hated a lot though...

Pretty easy choice for me. 12 all the way. Its actually a top 4 favorite final fantasy of mine. The battles system, summon system, and weapon system is some of my favorite in the series.
While the story leaves much to be desired and the characters aren't all that intriguing compared to other FF's; it is still much better imo than 13 which is my least favorite in the series next to ffone. Through my whole play through of 13 i found it quite hard to have any attachment whatsoever to any character. At least 12 had balthier and basch.
