Two things that always float in the back on my head while listening to PHAT:
1) We should do a PHAT PHriday. Just pick something to be your goal for the week. State the goal on Friday. Discuss success/failure the following Friday.
2) Listeners posting their weights. I did this at least once somewhere on this forum (or maybe the old website). That way I felt like I was in the weight loss game with a community rather than just feeling like I am keeping Joe and Kaleb accountable.
I never follow up on this. But now that I have posted the ideas, maybe something will come of them.

Banedrom has told me quite a bit about all this, and I've read/posted a few things- Although I'm not working out and eating well for weight loss, just to stay healthy.... Perhaps I will join the discussion.

Threads: Maybe a single thread for weekly weigh-ins under dieting? Should we weigh in Saturday mornings with the guys? Or on release day? PHAT PHridays under, er, hobbies? Or maybe the guys can start a subforum. It could be one continuous thread instead of several short threads for every Friday. So first weigh in on Wednesday 1 or Saturday 4 (right before we gain a bunch from 4th parties)? First PHriday on the third?

I must have gained 5 to 10 pounds a year. My drivers' license said (still says) I weigh 150, but at one time the scale told me I was closer to 220.

About the same but i was always overweight by a decent margin, played a little football so would like to think some of it was muscle but i doubt that much was lol weighed about 180 (6' 1'')my Senior year weighed myself a week or so back was at 250 so definitely got a lot to lose would love to get to 170 seems a healthy weight i guess. Biggest issue for me is that cheap and fast food is usually bad food and i lack the time or energy to prepare good meals.

I vote Friday 4.
This is equally exciting for me because I'll be joining a new gym. My last gym, which I worked at for free membership, closed Tuesday evening. I feel like I must be a giant or something.
Are all you guys short? No insults of course, but I keep seeing all of this 150-170 talk. I was that weight in like Junior High. I am pushing 6'3" though.

I think I am 5'10" but bad posture and age has the doctor convinced that I am slightly under 5'9". Currently about 194 which is down from the 201 when I was teaching. Let's see what I weigh on the weigh in day.

Friday weigh in: 194, up .8 from last week. I pretty much kept this weight for the whole week after gain during the weekend. So my weight goal for this week is to lose weight during the weekend and maintain that lower weight until next Friday.
PHAT Goals: *If I go to the movies today, do not get a drink. This is incredibly hard for me because I always get a headache in a movie theater if I do not get a coke. Maybe I will buy or sneak in a water and see what that does. *Play Curtain Call with Shinryu. This should be fun, will strengthen a connection to the community, and get me interacting with more than just a two year-old. *Do not grab Taco Bell on the way home from my Mom's house on Thursday. These food habits are hard to break for me, but Thursday is turning into a pig out day and most of the time I am not even hungry. I will leave an hour earlier than usual from my Mom's, that way I will get home sooner and just eat dinner at a normal time. *On going goal: This one I break all the time, but let's see if I can do it this week. Only drink soda between the hours of Noon to 6pm. I usually have two good days followed by one bad.

ok i am working out and i am on a diet but i have told myself never to get on a scale until i see some dramatic results to encourage me to continue on my goal reaching 200 lbs. started at 271 lbs. i am currently 6.1" in height. so my question is can you guys think of some other ways to show progress without actually getting on a scale.
phat goal: find a way to stop having the sandwich at tropical smoothie for lunch "curse you delicious flatbread sandwich". complete a set of 20 pushups 3x in one day push myself to jog 1 entire mile. buy more groceries instead eating whatever my parents get me. take more multivitamins.
