I go to the movie theater only for big budget blockbusters or interesting films that I'm sure I will enjoy and try to go on weekdays when there are less people because I'm not a fan of getting interrupted by cellphones ringing or people yelling and kids crying during the movie. I only go a few times each year though.
I'm more of a watch a movie in the comfort of my living room type of guy but certain times I will go to the movies for a film like Interstellar or Avatar or those type of films.

This is also what I do- especially the weekday thing. It's just less busy. I don't know if I'm getting more cynical, or if movies are indeed just crappier lately. The last movie I went to see at the theater was ExMachina. There just aren't a lot of new titles that interest me.

I've been unenthusiastic about the last year or two's worth of Cinema. It's to the point where I didn't see a single nominee for last year's Best Picture.

I go to the movies from time to time. If there is something I find good out I watch it either the day of or the day after. My pet peive is having to wait for people to get free time to watch a movie with me. So I just go alone so I don't have to deal with that.

Always the el cheapo for movies that have been out for 3 months. But if I do want to see a new movie, I try to go on the first showing on a Friday.
