Hey! I just wanted to get a sense of what other JRPG series/games that you two enjoy playing. Have you ever thought about adding other JRPGs similar to Final Fantasy to your podcast? It seems like a good way to extend the "review" aspect of the series once you play through all of the games.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the Suikoden games and feel like they'd be a great series for you to cover if you wanted to branch out!

Legend of Dragoon was a sweet one. I love using the specials in that game.

Suikoden is a great series. I personally think that one of the most underrated JRPGs is Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. Fun game, great story, and lots of puzzles. Think of a cross between Zelda and FF. One of my favorite parts of the game is an optional 99 floor dungeon. When you enter the dungeon, all of your characters are stripped of all equipment, spells, and even have their levels reset to level 1. You start going through each floor opening chests and fighting monsters while hoping for good equipment or spells. The catch is that you can't leave the dungeon until after the 20th floor, and you can only keep any items found in a blue chest, which tend to be powerful items or equipment. And did I forget to mention that the entire dungeon is random? Every time you walk in the enemies, chests, contents of those chests, and even floor layout are all random. You can sometimes find the most powerful sword in the game on the 1st floor but not make it far because you haven't found any cure spells which is a bummer since there are no save points.
If you haven't played this game find it and give it a try!

You know I always wanted to play the lufia games after having played lufia and the ruins of lore. That was a good game and had the 99 floor dungeon, it was good for leveling.

Another fun series is the trilogy of Soul Blazer, Terranigma, and Illusion of Gaia. While these are not turn based JRPGs they are still worth playing. They are similar to the Secret of Mana series. Illusion of Gaia is my favorite of the three as it takes elements from the other two games and puts them together nicely.

Definitely play them if you get a chance! Lufia II is technically a prequel but you don't really need to play the first to know what's going on. The first is a little mundane compared to the second, but if you play them in order you wont know what you're missing!

Speaking of Level 5, it's not part of a series but Rogue Galaxy is an absolutely amazing game. If you get the chance I recommend checking it out. Te gameplay is awesome and there is a lot of customization in the game. Equipment customization is similar to FF9 but with seemingly limitless possibilities! There is even a fun mini game for synthesizing equipment which requires you to build an assembly line in order to successfully create a new piece of equipment.

Personally i love the Shadow Hearts series. A jrpg set in the modern world. The main bad guy was even a real person. Anyone else try the games?

I actually have three shadow hearts games but haven't played through them yet. I started the first one but ended up doing what I always do and started power leveling and ended up putting it down. Main character is interesting though, he seems like a bad guy doing good if that makes sense.

It makes sense and sometimes the best bad guys are trying to do what they think is right. Im playing valkyrie profile right now, for the second time and I love it and i just bought the second one for ps2 I cant wait to play it has anyone else played it?
