I could never grasp some of the things in FF8 that Ultimecia said but after reading this article, on the Japanese translation of the game a lot of things are way clearer, give it a look it is a very interesting read :-)

Japanese: “I will summon the one you believe is most powerful. The stronger you believe he is, the stronger he becomes. That will surely make you suffer. Muahaha.”
[i.e. Griever is powerful purely because of his importance as a symbol in Squall’s mind. Point completely missed]
And so many cool facts makes me want to dig deeper to see if i can see if the other games translations may shed light on some of the more confusing aspects of each game.
