Dear god the music brings me back to when i was play Dragon Quest 8 and i loved that game so can't wait for this one :-) Love Akira's character deisgns and and the feel of the Dragon Quest games in general. Hope it has the something akin to the Monster Arena in 8 i loved that. May take this opportunity to replay 8 or play the older ones for the first time before this comes out. |

Somewhat as It is owned by the same company as FF. yeah but so is Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and all those other franchises... unlike Kingdom Hearts which has FF stuff in it or the Mana series or Chrono Trigger or Xenogears or Vagrant Story which all have links to Final Fantasy, the Dragon Quest series was never a part of Square and was always Enix and never had anything FF related in the games. |

Somewhat as It is owned by the same company as FF. yeah but so is Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and all those other franchises... unlike Kingdom Hearts which has FF stuff in it or the Mana series or Chrono Trigger or Xenogears or Vagrant Story which all have links to Final Fantasy, the Dragon Quest series was never a part of Square and was always Enix and never had anything FF related in the games. Could always link them as FF1 was an attempt to match the the DQ games, it was among the first of the JRPG's it inspired FF creation. Final fantasy might have never been without DQ to pave the way, and while yes it may not share the characters it shares most of the elements of a FF RPG. Strictly speaking it does not tie in to the main series. But games like xenogear vagrant stories etccc. tie in so loosely as well, there only tie in for them is that they were going to be a FF game at one point, but if you actually play these game that is where the similarities ends. They may have a possible connection before the fact but otherwise they could be an JRPG from any developer. I would consider DQ impact more prevalent to the series then Xenogear or vagrant stories. But that just my opinion, i could always be wrong and can definitely see where your comming from. |

Well so does Ultima and Wizardry or even DnD yet those don't tie directly to FF even though FF was inspired by those games but yeah I get where you're coming from. |
