Happy half-year-versary to Getting PHAT!
Goals for Week One
Reading Goal: Begin to Clean up Good Reads List. I have had a couple books sitting on my Good Reads "currently reading" list for many months. This week I would like to begin to remove some of them, either by actually reading them, scanning them, or admitting that I am never going to pick them up again.
Watching Goal: Continue watching Bleach and SAOII. No real watching goal this week. I have my stack of DVDs to watch, but I know I won't be getting to them until I finish off some of the books and games that I have piled up.
Husband/Father Goal: Two Events. My wife wants me to go to her friend's son's birthday party. Darth Vader will be there, so I definitely want to go, too. Later in the week is Equestria LA. While we are not going into the con, I want my daughter to see the cosplayers. We can always explore other areas of Anaheim while we are down there.
Home Goal: Caulk Kitchen and Bathroom areas. Determine other Ant strategies.
Gaming Goal: At least Finish currently available side quests. Starting the next Chapter would be a bonus.
Other Goals: Check out the My Fitness Pal App that some of the folks on here are talking about.

We preordered the 3 Movie box set on Amazon. It was basically 5 dollars more to get all three movies vs just getting the new one. The discs should have the extra videos that my daughter likes to watch on YouTube.

Oh yeah, I guess Weight Goal for this week is 183. With his goal of 180 and the holiday eating season coming up, I am sure Kaleb is going to catch up to me soon.

Donate more time to free running group Do more yoga per week Reduce overall intake of bread in large quantities at home Reach 100 push-up a night Get to 200 sit ups a day Do more bench press excersizes
I have been told to input a weight measurement system for the week so I might buy a scale at some point - not sure.
Reach 4 lap rotation on running days. - currently at 2.

What I did for break was to challenge myself to not eat bread with high fructose corn syrup. I don't know if it really had any impact, but I would like to think it did. The break costs a little bit more (which means I consumed it less), but it goes bad faster (like normal food). I have also started to do my little 15 to 20 minute routine in the morning again since my morning hours are over for the moment. I did gain a little weight yesterday. I guess teaching for 3 hours in the morning is more exercise than 20 minutes of lifting things and bending my body into interesting positions.

You must do a lot of left and right walking as well as bending over. So there must be a lot of things to do in class I wager.

Haha, I did not make the connection to class at first. I was thinking, wow, I must walk funny.
I wore a pedometer to class for awhile. It never measured the steps I took in class because it only started counting after three steps were taken.

Happy half-year-versary to Getting PHAT! Goals for Week One Reading Goal: Begin to Clean up Good Reads List. Reading Goal: PASSED! Scanned through a teaching book I had on the Good Read list for half a year. Removed the Lewis Collection, but plan to go back and read through one book in the collection a year. All in all, probably removed half the books sitting on the currently reading list. Watching Goal: PASSED! I only watched a single episode of SAOII, but almost finished the first season of Bleach. I think my daughter wants to watch it more than I do. I have to rewatch several of the episodes because she runs them in the background while I am working. Husband/Father Goal: PASSED! We saw Darth Vader and my daughter even got his autograph. We did not go to Equestria LA yet, but we are definitely going tomorrow. Home Goal: Passed? I caulked up the kitchen, but not the bathrooms. After caulking the kitchen, the ants still found a way to get in so I decided not to caulk the bathroom. Looks like it is time to call pest control. Gaming Goal: PASSED! Finished side quests and began the next Chapter (12?). The quests and chapters are short, but I only have a few hours late at night to play. Maybe another month of the game? Poor Persona Q is just sitting there. Other Goals: FAILED. I totally forgot about My Fitness Pal APP. I just got a Fire Phone since Amazon was basically giving them away. I spent two nights playing with it and setting it up and the Fitness APP just left my mind. I still need to get music and some personal videos onto the device. It is short on Apps, but that seems to be the only draw back. Weight: 183.2 Down 3 pounds from last week. I have been at 183 since last Monday. Until I figure out how to eat with the new schedule, 183 may be my new limit. That is not bad. Way below 190 and about 10 pounds from last year. Bonus: *I got to take my daughter out in her wagon again because it has been cooler. We got some extra play time, and I got to interact with a bunch of my neighbors. *I found an empty room at the school that I can plan in. This has almost reduce the work I bring home to nothing.

Week Two! Another month is flying by. Soon it will be 2016, and I will be send Joe and Kaleb 50 to 60 dollars.
Goals for this week.
Book Goals: Finish Mort by Pratchett. Plan or begin to read the next book club book. Continue morning read. The book I have been reading for 30 minutes before bed each night has also turned into my read for a couple of minutes each morning book. I would like to continue that for at last the next three weeks.
Watching Goals: Finish Two DVDs from the stack. Continue Watching Bleach. I was almost done with Season 1 of Bleach, but just felt like watching something else last night. I grabbed a Nausica randomly from the DVD stack by the TV. I want to reduce the stack by one more disc (not necessarily a box) a week. Fall has a lot of new seasons dropping that I may end up getting for the holidays. Need to make some room. Or at least give my daughter less stuff to play Frisbee with.
Husband Goals: Equestria LA/Anaheim. In-Laws House. Go to the con with my wife, but also explore Anaheim a bit.
Father Goals: Equestria LA. Wagon time. Last week, I was able to take my daughter out two or three times in her wagon before I went to work. I want to take her out three to four times.
Home Goals: Weed the Hill. Ant investigation. The weather is cooling down. I should be able to work on that hill again for at least one day during the week. The Ants have been away, but I think they usually are when I write these little blurbs. They must not work on the weekends.
Gaming Goals: Finish the current Chapter of Xillia 2. DO NOT play poker. I might be down with the game if I did not spend so much time on the poker minigame.
Professional Goals: Finish planning the rest of the class. No Essay for Week 3. I am not trying to give myself more work, but the class only has 8 more days of instruction left. To make best use of the time, I should probably spend this weekend planning out the last 8 days. This will make the last week super easy, but will also allow the course to have an ending rather than just abruptly stopping do to time.
Weight Goal: 182.x I would really love to see 179.8 appear on the scale just once, but that seems unlikely. Because I plan on spending time with family (which means eating) during this three day weekend, I hope to just break even at 183.
UFF Goal: Increase Activity. Jumping onto the PHAT forum once or twice a weekend has become my UFF routine. Work has definitely been the reason I do not participate as much. I spend enough time on the computer writing lesson plans and answer emails that I just want to log off and be done. This week I will set aside an hour and read through a random or interesting sounding thread in the main UFF area and add a few posts of my own. I think all my questions have been read, so maybe I will add one there as well.

Dam bro your dedication to betterment is amazing good luck And the way you set up goals in small increment is probably the best way you could have done it, like chipping away slowly but surely toward your overall goals.

Thanks! I would have quit a long time ago, but knowing you guys are following along keeps me going. The goal categories keep developing, but I like their current state. Feel free to jump in once in awhile with something you are working on. I always find.d inspiration in what others are doing.

This week I will set aside an hour and read through a random or interesting sounding thread in the main UFF area and add a few posts of my own. I think all my questions have been read, so maybe I will add one there as well. Week Two Report! Book Goals: PASS, PASS, FAIL So I did finish Mort by Pratchett. It's great, and I would like to continue with the other Death books, but so many other books are calling. One of which is Speak for an online book club I am in. Starting it was the second goal. I am 30% in and bored as hell. I'll get through it, but am only scanning at this point. I have only enjoyed a few books from this book club, but honestly I am in it to talk to friends who have moved away. The third goal was to continue reading in the morning. I failed here because there is too much to do in the morning. If I want to work out and read before I eat, it's doable on most days. But the heat has forced me to walk the dog earlier, plus daughter - you got to keep her alive with food and continue potty-training. This is kind of a double fail, too. The lamp on my side of the bed broke, so this week I have not been reading a physical book before I head off to sleep. I want to continue reading from paper before bed (instead of staring at a screen), but reading in the morning is going to be more of a luxury than a goal. Watching Goals: PASS, PASS I reduced the DVD pile by a few inches. I did not watch Cowboy Bebop (because I have already watched the series three times), but instead moved it to the shelf. I bought that because I wanted to have it, not necessarily because I needed to watch it right away. I usually watch some episodes and the movie around Halloween. I did watch the first Xmen movie. I don't think I can continue to do two a week, though. All this media and gaming consumption is conflicting. I really wanted to continue playing Xillia 2 instead of watching the movie. But once I started the movie, I just wanted to keep watching the rest of the collection instead of watching, playing, or reading anything. As for Bleach, I am halfway through Season 2. It feels like a different kind of story-telling and now I remember why I stopped watching when it was on Adult Swim. The second season so far is just one long battle instead of complete stories contained in an episode. I'll keep watching it. The style is fine since I can choose when to watch the next episode, but I remember it being really annoying having to wait a week between episodes. Husband Goals: pass, PASS We did go to Equestria LA, but any exploring of Anaheim we did was on accident. I knew it was going to be busy because of Disneyland and the holiday weekend, but I did not expect the marathon. We got to Disneyland in 35 minutes (record time), but spend 45 trying to find a place to park. I was a little frustrated, but was still civil. My wife kind of sat around while my daughter and I explored. We did not go out to eat because we just wanted to get home. So, a technical pass. We had a good time at her parents house. I almost failed this one because I had some work to do, but I just brought it. I spent most of the time with the family. Father Goals: PASS, FAIL My daughter had a ball at Equestria LA. We did not buy passes, but we were still able to mingle with all the people. The tickets allowed us to go into some of the autograph rooms or panels. The staff let my daughter go into the kids area, which was super cool of them. No one was dressed in full pony gear, but it was pretty much what I was expecting: mainly bronies. I think they did a good job creating two or three mini cons at the hotel. You could hang out with the bronies, go to the kids area, or just go play the card game. Since the heat came back, I was only able to take my daughter out once in the wagon. Even then, she was drenched with sweat by the time we got home. I could have taken her out more, but we would have melted. Home Goals: PASS, PASS The power went out a couple times last week. I used this time to work outside and then jump into the community pool. It's a pain to dig out trees that have set down roots. I figure I can probably pull one or two out every time I work in the yard. As a bonus, I got to play around with the sprinkler timer since the power outages caused the system to default. I also got to fix leaks in the drip system. Funny enough, the part I needed was a bit of pipe I bought for my daughter as a replacement bubble-blower. The ants seem to take the weekend off, and I have not seen any since Wednesday. I did call an exterminator and spent an hour on the phone with him, but I will probably not use him. I don't want another year-long contract. Gaming Goals: PASS, PASS I did avoid the in-game poker. It was pretty hard. I finished Chapter 12, which was pretty awesome. The twist was revealed and all that. I jumped into the side-quests and would have finished them, as well as the next chapter, but watched Xmen instead. Professional Goals: pass, PASS I outlined the rest of the course, but it has been changing day by day. The plan is not complete, but pretty solid. I could teach the rest of the course without further planning, but it would not go as smoothly as I would like it, too. The upside is that the more I generate now, the smoother the next time goes. Usually this last summer course is easy, but by switching the book it suddenly feels like a new course. I did not give the students an essay for week 3, but we did work on summaries. Building a summary worksheet is another reason why I did not get to read or game as much as I wanted to. But now it's done and I should only have one or two more sheets to build. Weight Goal: FAILED So close to the 182.x. I was at 183.0 this morning, so just a tad under last week. I did not see 179.x at all. I did see 182.x during the week, but never in the morning. I could have held off eating breakfast until I was 182.8, but I figured I would follow the spirit of the challenge. Even though I have a capital FAIL up there, I still did not gain weight, and I am about 14 pounds less than I was when I started following the podcast. UFF Goal: I read and posted through PHAT, Random, and the Question sections. Those seem to be my usual haunts. Going through the games only makes me want to go play them or add them to my already-hefty list. I was tempted to go break 1000, but I'd rather it happen naturally. I don't want to generate posts just to hit a number (because, you know, been there already, hehe). New Goals to come later. Time to get back to work.

Week Three Goals!
Book Goal: Get back into the habit of reading a physical book at night, bedside light or no light.
Watching Goals: Watch the second X-Men movie. Watch unseen Twilight Zone episodes. So, my buddy finally talked me out of watching the rest of Bleach. I enjoyed the first season, but Season Two feels like a different show. I got 11 episodes in, and I was starting to zone out when it was on. I may give it another try, but will probably start at Season 3 or 4.
Husband Goal: Go to Grill 'Em All and Gallery Nucleus.
Father Goals: Buy replacement books. Wagon Time. My daughter has worn out her Tiger and Safari Nat Geo books. She still loves them, but I rather pick her up new copies than stapling the book together or paying to get it spiral bound (which would cost the same amount as the book).
Home Goals: Pull out 3 more palms. Follow up with Exterminator. I should not leave the guy I called hanging. I don't think I will use his services, but I should decide and let him know this week.
Gaming Goals: Finish side quests leading to Chapter 13. Finish Chapter 13.
Professional Goals: Successfully wrap up the last week of class. Talk coworkers into grading immediately after test instead of waiting until later in the day.
Friend Goals: See buddy and family on Saturday. Invite friends out Sunday. Make plans for next week during off time.
UFF Goal: Write a question for the question segment of UFF and PHAT.
Weight Goal: 183 - Just Maintain
