The scary movie thread made me think of horror video games too.. do you guys like or play any horror games? I have personally never played any, but any recommendations if I were to try one?

I play Resident Evil Outbreak every Halloween. It's become a tradition of mine. Those loading times though....

A coworker of mine once told me the monsters from the Dead Space games were scary.. Creepy crawling babies and zombie guys with scythes for arms. Closest I've got to that is when I play Destiny there are some hordes of fast zombie-like creatures. I think it would be fun to try to the Oculus with a horror game.

Dead space is great! Solid series, especially the first two.

Amnesia Dark Descent (arguably one of the scariest horror games and its PC only) Fatal Frame / Project Zero games (very VERY creepy Japanese horror games and on the ps2/ps3, wii and wii u and xbox) Eternal Darkness (very creepy and messes with your head Gamecube horror game) Silent Hill 1-3 (Only the first 3 games are good and SH2 is very scary) Resident Evil 1-4 and 0 and Code Veronica (RE games after the first 2 are arguably more action than horror but REmake on the ps3/360/ps4/xbox one is a must play its a remake of RE1) Dead Space 1-3 (Dead Space 1 is really good, think Event Horizon the movie but as a videogame)

I love horror games, but don't get to play them as much as I'd want to. So I watch Lets Players like Markiplier be scared for me.
I would recommend "Until Dawn" (PS4), a choice-based, exploration heavy survival horror game which is basically a homage to horror movies from the 80's and 90's.

If you want a scary game that will do nothing but jump at you I can't recommend more than
Five nights at Freddie's

I'm personally not a scary game player. Dead space did a great job on selling me a scare In space with awesome weapons and story. Resident evil is a great franchise as well as silent hill.

The feeling of actually being in the room and you can't escape until you pull the thing off your face.. *shudder* Sounds like fun though! lol

I have heard mixed reviews of Until Dawn. I am going to give it a go eventually.
I really was holding out for Kholat because it is about the scariest real life incident I've ever heard about. It didn't get great reviews but it looked awesome.
If you've never heard of the Dyatlov Pass incident, check it out. There is a movie about it (found footage, so it might be up your alley) that is pretty creepy.
