So this past weekend, I finally watched Paprika- the only Satoshi Kon movie I hadn't seen. It was.....well. It was very Satoshi Kon, so kinda odd but interesting and had crazy awesome art. I would not recommend being under the influence of any substance if you choose to watch this movie.
Has anyone else ever seen any of his movies? If so, what did you think? He did Millennium Actress, Paprika, Perfect Blue, and Tokyo Godfathers, and also did a lot of work on Memories, which is a series of shorts. I did not know until about...two days ago that he died in 2010. What a bummer- but I guess his final film will be released someday, when it's finished being animated.

I miss Satoshi Kon so much ;_; Such a shame he died so young and unlike Miyazaki studio ghibli movies he is basically the only one that made anime films aimed at more of an adult audience than just for everyone, which allowed him to pursue more interesting stories since he wasn't bound by PG ratings and stuff.
