After your party all escape from the Via Purifico in Bevelle, they are left on the highbridge while Kimahri is supposed to hold off Seymour to give them time to escape. Instead of going directly to fight Seymour (This is the 2nd time you fight him), you can actually train on the highbridge instead. The majority of what you fight is higher level machina. They can be a little challenging at first, but they are conveniently weak to water (which is brotherhood's element) so you can easily overkill them with Tidus and get around 7000 exp per fight (I don't remember the exact number because it can vary, but for all your characters it will be AT LEAST one sphere level up per fight). With Tidus using slayer in overdrive setting, he can also learn energy rain or even blitz ace quickly here. Additionally these machina have a good chance of dropping mega phoenix. After just a couple hours of training here I had an armor customized with auto-phoenix and my characters were more than strong enough to beat Seymour flux later on in Gagazet (arguably the hardest fight in the game). Many people aren't a fan of grinding, but this is one of the times where I actually enjoy it because you can see results extremely fast, especially with the damage tidus does to the machina. Mine was doing 5500 per hit to them at this point, so only one hit to kill any of them. You don't run into experience as high as this until after you get the airship post-yunalesca.

I did this in my last playthrough, it's a great place to grind.

I've been leveling there since I played on the PS2 version. Because Yuna having the Reflect spell really makes the fight against Seymour easier. So if she didn't already have the spell, I'd train on the High Bridge until she did.

Thanks for the info I never even thought about grinding here on my previous playthroughs. I'm currently at this part of the game as I'm on my 3rd playthrough of FF10 but first playthough of FF10/10-2 HD for ps4. Only bummer is that Kimahri isn't with the party to level up. Unlike most people I've talked to, Kimahri is one of my favorite ff10 characters and i tend to use him quite a bit in battles because he can be so versatile.

It does make it more difficult but that just means he can stay in your party afterwards until Zanarkand I would hate that because he's tough to really get good at this point in the game but your other characters could be so overpowered that it wouldn't matter. Glad the tip helped.
