love the episode as usual. Aside from my love and your dislike for ffviii, my only thing for you is the pronunciation of Disgaea.
Dis-Gaia. Or Diss-Guy-Ya.
Otherwise, I enjoy spotlights. It's like a documentary for my ears and I love me some docus.

I got shit on youtube for not liking synth scores. I just think it's a bad idea, if you want your movie to stand the test of time, to have an electronic score. Why am I being hanged for this?

I love the rant clips. Joe getting physically ill because of gross fan fiction is just the best.

Giggity...
But yeah, seriously. Don't let it bother you, Joe. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad world out there. Synth is mega popular at the moment, but look throughout time. Since music has started to be recorded, the classical scores are the ones that can be listened to and be enjoyed in any era. Synth scores will only work for particular movies, therefore forming a symbiotic relationship with just that movie.
Look at "The Social Network". That movie relies heavily on its synth-adjace score to help tell the story. I feel it works great in that movie. Will Trent Reznor's score be something of legend? I would think no.
I don't go to youtube for the podcast (Sorry, I'll admit it!) but I've always found youtube to be a cesspool of comments that people make for the sake of being contrarian. It's mob mentality to an extreme.
So, the long and short. Don't get upset Joe. I agree with you, and I also say there are exceptions to the rule (like many things), but I won't ever be able to pick out "The Social Network's" score from other synth songs, not like the works of Hans Zimmer, or John Williams, or Howard Shore, just to name a few.
