What do you guys reckon? Will this be the end of the line if it fails? I have heard rumours about FF16 already being in development. Perhaps detective Joe could get on the case?

I also read that they are already have an idea for FF16 and they will bring it back to its turn-based roots. I think that if FF15 flops that it will reinforce their decision to keep future FF gameplay more traditional. Especially after Bravely Default was such an unexpected hit, I think that Square Enix realizes that they can have success with their games without straying too far from what made the series popular, which tends to be battle system and story.

I agree. I feel like they are having too much success with FFXIV to call it quits completely, and would most likely stick to their formula if success for XVI. Plus we know XVI is intended to be a traditional entry.

FF15 is to hyped for it to fail completely, but if it suck a traditional game will certainly help.

I mean people have been looking forward to this game for so long that it can't possibly meet everyones expectations. Personally i just recently got on the band wagon of anticipating this game. I just fear people wont push aside that hype and that they will not take this game for what it is/could be.

For example, FFXI and FFXIV would be a studio, SEO (squeenix online) the other FF games would fall under Square-Enix Inc. All others (tomb raider, hitman, anything else) would be rebranded with Eidos. This is not what I would call ideal, but shareholders, if they can brand this as a strong move, would love this. I ment a financial failure because it's hyped people will buy it and with it being like kingdom hearts I doubt it will flop it will most likely make money.
