one more question.
Do you guys/gals think it's important for your significant other to enjoy games? If so, is it important that they enjoy rpgs or even final fantasy? My girlfriend is a total non gamer. At first I wasn't sure how this would effect my gaming time, but it hasn't hurt it at all. My opinion is this: so long as your partner respects your hobby/time to dedicate to it, then no harm no foul. What is your opinion?

It is wonderful when they do have the same interest as it opens a lot of door when it comes to fun things to do together :-) But as long as she respects your interest that good as well.

My Ol' Lady doesn't seem to mind because she knows she is the most important girl in the world to me. The thing is that when she is home, I turn the games off so we can spend time together. But when she's gone, I spend my time with lulu, lightning, tifa, cissnei, quistis, rosa, celes, rikku, fang, yuna, terra, aeris, selphie, garnet, rinoa............yeah, she's the most important girl in the world to me.

I've never been with a girl who has enjoyed FF (or games in general) to the same extent as me. It never used to be something that I looked for, but it would certainly be nice to be able to geek out and talk about all this stuff with a partner.

His big passion is card games/board games like Magic The Gathering. When we first got together he was also very active in a DnD campaign. He doesn't get as passionate about video games like I do but he is super passionate about MTG! I think it is important to the extent that the significant other can at least understand and support you as a gamer. I love dating a total nerd though, it's amazing.

I think it is important to the extent that the significant other can at least understand and support you as a gamer. I love dating a total nerd though, it's amazing. Preach! I think we're all on the same track here- as long as the SO can appreciate the fact that it's a hobby and that time devoted to the hobby doesn't take away from the relationship, no harm no foul. I love gamers in general, although I've found there's usually a disconnect between the card/tabletop gamers and the video gamers. Some people do both, but they're few and far between. I used to be huge into MTG- but it's so easy to fall out of, what with the sets changing all the time. Board gamers also require meeting up somewhere, which requires going outside. And we all know there are bears...outside... In my past of dating gamer boys, it's easier when the SO likes similar games. I had one ex who was huge into WoW and LoL- total rage monster. My bf now dabbles in MTG and Elder Scrolls....but he won't give FF the time of day. I've been nudging along that he should maybe maybe give just one of them a chance...I thought maybe X...and he's not. having. it. Said it was too linear and dramatic. He got wicked side-eye. Not sure how the future looks.

Complete and total severance of all ties. The burning of even the smallest bridges. Utter, and complete, removal from the others life.
