Several times you guys asked each other or the guest hosts about the story of FFXI and how it compares to the other main series titles. What if the MMO aspect of the game was removed. Is the story still good enough or meaty enough to be a main series Final Fantasy game? I have only played first 20 levels or so farting around Windurst, but from your description of the story, it sounds very short. It seems to be missing memorable NPCs and the FF twist.
If yes, why?
If no, what needs to be added to give it that FF feel?

No.
Needs longer more complicated challenevinf missions with bosses. Need to feel more like a adventure rather than a errand. More areas like the dark lord dungeon. More click and open loot. No stupid 6 tries to open junk. That's it.

Kotaku posted a few articles about FFXIV this weekend since Heavensward just dropped. They made it seemed like a lot of this was addressed and that your character actually feels like the main character to a final fantasy game.
