Here is a "tactic you might need" for those of you who are interested in obtaining all of the summons in FF4:
You can learn the Sylph summon by proceeding through the Sylph cave after Yang sacrifices himself. When you reach te house, you will see the Sylphs who are looking after Yang but nothing can be done at this point. You need to return to the surface and head to Fabul. Once there, go into the tower and find Yang's wife who will give you a frying pan to bring to Yang to whack him over the head with. Return to Yang in the Sylph cave and use the frying pan which will unlock the Sylph summon.
