I spend most of my time reading, and I take a long time to finish a video game. This means that I usually miss out on a lot of media. It's not rare to hear my friends gasp (or coo) in exasperation that I missed out on something that is an assumed part of our consumption culture.
What ubiquitous thing have you never done that causes shock and awe in your peers?
For example, I have never seen the Alien movies or the Godfather movies. This usually causes people to WHAT?! me.
I have also never seen Firefly or Serenity.

Stuff that I refuse to watch like the Twilight saga.
People are like what?! but I have never seen even the first movie and don't care.
Also go watch the Godfather and Alien movies at least the first two from both series.
Also Firefly/Serenity are great.
I also am shocked at some hardcore gamer friends when they say they never played an FF game.

I dont smoke and drink rarely, usually only at parties or friend get togethers.
People look at me like i have a second face when i tell them i dont smoke. Never have and never will. Kinda sad that its considered odd..

Yeah. I've been living with my fiance for two years, which is super frowned upon here. I also don't watch tv.

I dont smoke and drink rarely, usually only at parties or friend get togethers. People look at me like i have a second face when i tell them i dont smoke. Never have and never will. Kinda sad that its considered odd.. Well if we are talking about cigarettes its pretty much known they cause lung cancer and are just bad for you... and not mention ruin your teeth and are pretty expensive. I have no problem with drinking if its in moderation purposely binge drinking to get drunk isn't my thing. |

Yeah. I've been living with my fiance for two years, which is super frowned upon here. I also don't watch tv. not much good stuff on tv anyway so as long as you watch movies you aren't missing much. There is the occasional good show like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones but the rest is pretty meh. |
