Are you doing anything interesting with the Junction system in your FFVIII playthrough? I know you guys are in the middle of it right now. Although I don't think the Junction system is one of the best in the series, it is one of the most interesting to exploit. On my last playthrough I did a low level run but got really high level magic. I have a more detailed explanation of what I did over on my site if you're interested. If you aren't doing anything weird with the Junction system... then I guess I just want to know what you think of it.

I'm doing the low level run as well. I like the system, but it can be annoying; especially when I have to draw the new magic. I have been turning creatures into cards also, thereby avoiding gaining xp, and getting ap instead.

I just finished ff8 and I don't really know what to think of the junction system. I believe that it is the beginnings of an awesome system that could have been a funky fusion of ff6 and ff9. They didn't quite work it out though because it isn't that great.

They didn't quite work it out though because it isn't that great. When I replayed it recently it didn't quite live up to the nostalgia in my mind. I remember enjoying it much more when I originally played it years ago. The most fun I had was figuring out how to break the junction system with my low level run.

My highest leveled character upon completion of the game was level 17.

My party ended the game at 14. That's awesome! I remember my Squall was higher than everyone else and his final level was 17. I think everyone else was around 15 or so.

Yeah it was pretty sweet. I feel like I could have done lower.

Yeah it was pretty sweet. I feel like I could have done lower. I'm sure there's someone out there who has figured out how to do a no leveling run through. It sounds like something that dedicated fans would do.

Well I know that you can keep Squall at lv 7. Somebody has to level a little bit because there are fights that are mandatory that give exp.
