Did anyone else ever experience this? It will just be a scene of dialogue and it'll freeze on a text box. May have to restart on steam. super annoying.

never happened on the psn version for me.
Is your ps3 updated? Your FF8 download might be corrupted so delete and download and install it again. Keep the save of course.

I haven't had that issue yet.
The original issue with PS3 and FFVIII was that you couldn't play the game on the non-fully backward systems. You put in disc one, and it would freeze at the opening video. So disappoint after wanting to play it for so long, thankfully the released the PSN download version.

This never happened for me, but I was playing entirely on the Vita not on the PS3.

It made rotating the map much easier on the overworld. I also assigned the combined R2+L2 function to down on the right analog stick for running away in battles.

I know some people that forgot about them when playing the vita version lol.
