The dislike bar is huge. People felt trolled and wanted a remake.
I'm happy to play FF7 again on the ps4 since I never played the Steam version.
Some guys didn't take it well.

No one should have expected it. They said they weren't going to do one and that nobody wanted to helm it. I think its cool that they are adding the steam one to PS. Its really nice looking.

at least the music was fixed from the awful original PC version, unlike how they didn't fix the music for the VIII release. Thank goodness for mods out there or I wouldn't be able to play FFVIII on steam.

They did, I downloaded it, but it was still a pain. Why couldn't Squeenix have taken the extra 10 minutes and do it themselves?

I played it after the patch so it didn't bother me, also I don't have a high opinion of ff8s music.

I'm Excited to get it! Yes, I also own 4 copies, original disc, platinum disc, PSN PS1 classics and steam, but hell. I have a PlayStation4 so why not make it 5!! I prefer using a controller for it anyway, so it'll be good to not have to fish out my old consoles or PlayStation Vita anytime I want to play it.
Imagine if Square Enix ACTUALLY did a remake. The fandom would just implode lol.

I'm not surprised people feel trolled / annoyed by this. I think there was an idea mentioned in one of the podcasts that FF7 will probably only be fully remade when SE is in some sort of dire financial situation. While I understand the thinking behind this, I don't see why they don't pre-empt this sort of thing and just invest in a full remake, it would pretty much be a license for SE to print Gil.
Although, I suppose it could be argued that no matter how good the remake would be, it would ruin people's nostalgia of the original and would always be compared to it. I for one think that that is a risk they should take! I grew up playing FF7 and would certainly not feel like my childhood memories were being shat on by a HD, fully remade version of the game as I would view it almost as a different game entirely, from a different era etc.
Any thoughts on this?

The only reason I would get it is for the trophies. Trophies would give me a new reason to replay a game I know inside and out. My buddy said that you get an achievement for learning aeris' final limit break. I never use her because you lose her halfway through the game so at least it would be something I haven't done before.
