Some questions that I'm curious about.
Is your family, friends or significant other aware of the FF series? What do they think about the series? Have they ever played the games, watched you play them or said something funny about the games? How do they feel about your passion about the series? If you don't have a significant other would you like to find one that enjoys the FF series as well?
My family really doesn't care about videogames. Some of my cousins like to play games but its mostly CoD or Halo type games... lol. They are aware of Final Fantasy the name but know nothing about it except for Cloud, Sephiroth and Lightning. Some of them have even said some racist things about the characters which has made me mad (hey they're from another generation where saying certain things was the norm I guess >_>) I remember showing them the FF15 trailer and I remember one of my grandparents saying "just you wait for them to release it here in the west they will surely change that "asian" look of their eyes and face because we don't like that look over here. (this was edited the original thing they said was much worse)
WTF?!? I got mad but he didn't even know he said something wrong.
I remember playing FF7 and my parents never paid attention to me playing it until the end of the game. Lets just say that my dad thought the Birth of a God and final Sephiroth boss fights were satanic and didn't like the "chanting music" as he described it.
Lucky enough though I have had a few girlfriends that have either been KH or FF fans to some degree so glad to have someone else that liked the series.
Haha whatever. So what about you?

Nobody in my family cares. My brother played ff7 and a little bit of ff8 but he was done after that.

My wife and I take an interest in each other's hobbies, even if we don't actually participate in them. I talk to her about yarn and knitting all the time even though I've never knit in my life. She does the same for me and videogames (occasionally I get her to play something with me like Mario Kart). She thinks it's really cool that I have an entire series that I'm so passionate about. She's been really encouraging during my full playthrough of the mainline games. She definitely takes an interest while I talk about the games. My brother is a gamer and he and I talk Final Fantasy every once in awhile. He keeps wishing that he could get into the series, but every time he picks up a RPG he ends up getting bored. Maybe one of these days there will be a FF game that appeals to him, but we definitely have different tastes in games. Generally I keep people around me that are encouraging and take an interest in my hobbies. So I talk about Final Fantasy with lots of people

^ Nice to have encouraging people in your life. Its also cool that you talk about FF with them. I'm curious does your brother or your wife even though they don't really play FF games know or recognize characters, music or anything from the games just from you talking to them about the games?

Yeah, my wife does. She knows the characters that I like and the ones I think are stupid. She also knows the basic plots to some extent. She probably couldn't pass any kind of quiz on FF but she knows enough for me to talk to her without constantly needing to step back and give context.

My girlfriend likes to watch the cutscenes but thinks the normal games are boring. She actually played XIV for awhile but she thought there was way too much going on. Recently she has become custom to stealing my DS and playing Curtain Call. And sometimes I catch her whistling the chocobo theme. I'm currently watching her enjoy Assasin's Crred Black Flag.

It's nice having a significant other who games! Occasionally a game will get my wife's attention and she'll obsess over it for a few weeks. It's fun to see and I always encourage it. She usually goes years between games though, where I am constantly playing something.

None of my family knows or cares. My daughter likes to watch me play and I hope to get her into games. My wife is familiar with the names Final Fantasy, Persona, and Dungeons and Dragons, but has no idea what they are about. She just knows I mentioned them a lot.
Twice I been in a situation where I had a girlfriend who was really into games. Unfortunately, both of those times ended up being negative experiences and both times because of the media involved. Bless you female gamers on here and those of you with significant others who are gamer girls, but both of these experiences left me avoiding their company for awhile.
EDIT: I should add that my wife constantly steals my 3DS to play Dr. Mario and Tetris (and used to steal my PSP to play Lumines). I wonder why she will steal my Vita when I start using that?

Did those GFs hate on your games? I bet it was because they had content that upset them right? Some girls are like that some are not.

Most of my family does not care about video games at all. For example, the last video game my mother played was Super Mario Bro. 2 for the NES. My sister plays COD, but that's about it. No one in my family has played a Final Fantasy. They've heard of them because I play them, but they don't care. There's no one that I know in real life who also plays Final Fantasy.
