In my last playthrough of FFVIII I only summoned a GF once in the entire game. I found it much easier to just optimize the Junction system and ignore summoning GFs while in battle.
So, I have two questions for you:
Did you find yourself using the GF command often in battle?
Who was your favorite GF?

I pretty much never had any of my characters equipped with the GF command in any of my playthroughs. Like most final fantasies, they just weren't that helpful, and if you're going to boost it then it takes too long. In FFVIII I usually did have the person junctioned to Doomtrain with the GF command because Doomtrain is too awesome not to summon occasionally, especially because his meltdown effect worked on most bosses (not that it was really necessary- only helpful on ruby dragons in the Deep Sea Research Center). And you gotta summon Eden once to see it. But besides that they overall weren't worth keeping the command on more than one character.

After the intro section I never actually had the GF command in battles because I would rather have other commands.
