Okay I've heard this before and it has been mentioned on the podcast. Can anyone tell me how FFVII and FFX are supposedly linked or from the same universe? I've played through both games quite a number of times and don't see the connection.

I've heard somewhere that a staff member of Square Enix confirmed that FFVII and FFX are related to each other. But it could be false. But I have played FFX-2, and that does seem to make the connection.

FF2 and FF4 are linked as well. FF2 Dragoon dies and leaves his son without a father to become the next dragoon. That boy's name is Kain Highwind finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Kain_Highwindfather's name is Ricard Highwind. finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ricard_Highwind"Kain's father Richard harkens to Ricard from Final Fantasy II, where Kain states in the Nintendo DS remake that his father died fighting an evil empire. Additionally, in Final Fantasy II, Ricard adopts a young boy after his father was killed by Palamecia's attack; beginning with the Dawn of Souls remake, this boy is named Kain." Highwind is a common dragoon last name BUT the first name Kain is unique so its probably the same Kain. |
