I opened my Vita today. I did not take it to the SuperBowl party (just hanging out with folks), but I did spend most of the football game reading about all the Vitas features, especially Remote Play. From what I have gathered, Remote Play with the PS3 is OK, but RP with PS4 is much smoother.
Most to the posts I read were about people playing FFXIV on a Vita via Remote Play.
I know this has been mentioned before in the forum, but now that I am playing on my Vita I feel the pull. I am still a long way off, but I am one step closer to playing FFXIV. Now I am holding myself off by telling myself that I need to play it on a PS4, a machine I do not have. So... maybe by the time the hosts are playing FFXIV, I will be join them. Maybe.
