I'm going to say that FF4 is one of my favorites. After listening to the show it sounds like the guys don't feel the same way I do. The story is pretty kick ass, especially if you think about the time that the game was made. This was the first true FF game, and all other FF games have taken something from it, whether it be the ATB or the indepth story's. These were the first memorable characters that had history and unque abilities, and even paved the way for concepts like dark storylines and optional dungeons. When you look at its place in the FF history, I hope people realize that was the game that took the series to the next level, and revolutionized the way we play RPGs.

Well the first true FF was the 1st game obviously but if you mean story and characters then FF 2-3 NES both had story and characters.
FF4 is loved by many fans though it always is in the top 5 or top 10 ranking lists usually. But I for one think FF5 and FF6 are better games.
I really love Edge and Rydia though they are among my favorite FF characters.

Yeah, we both like the game quite a bit. We just like other entries more. Just because we didn't like the ending, doesn't mean we didn't like the game. The ending was weak. It destroyed numerous strong points in the story, by bringing back all the sacrificed characters. What you need to remember, is that we are playing a very good series of games.

I agree that the ending sucks, and it isn't the absolute best in the series. I was just pointing out that a lot of people have this game near the bottom of their favorite FF games list.

I do prefer FF5 and FF6 over FF4, but FF4 was the first one that I actually sat down and played when I was only like 5 years old. To this day I've played through it more than any other FF (or any other game for that matter), so it will always occupy a special place for me.
