What did everyone think of the Historia Crux? I personally thought it was an interesting way to open the game up but only in a way that could maintain a somewhat cohesive story. I usually like my open world games to be actual "worlds" that you travel as opposed to destinations in a menu, but the way everything fit together with the story made sense to me. I definitely liked it better than in X-2 where the game felt a little disjointed to me due to the complete freedom you have to travel to any location. I think that if you don't limit the freedom you have you can lose some of the story.

I REALLY liked the Historia Crux. There were so many times in X-2 where I missed out on crucial things because I went to the "right" place for the story and missed out on another parts of the chapters. I liked that the Historia Crux would usually tell you were to go, but there were a lot of other options to explore. I also enjoyed the fact that it would give you some kind of guidance as to what you still needed in each area. I'm a completist, so knowing what I still need to do in order to 100% things makes things more enjoyable for me I also liked that even the side-missions still had something to do with the main story (fragments and space-time distortions), whereas in X-2, a LOT of the sidequests were completely random, and contributed nothing to the story. XIII-2 for the win!

I enjoyed the Historia Crux more than the open world of XIII-3. Thought it worked well and was a convenient way to get around.

XIII -2, the historia crux is awesome, it's basically new game+ times infinity. I'd still go with LR open world. I did not enjoy the mini games or whatever they are in XIII-2, those sequence quests were once in a life time. Every time I played it afterwards was by rewinding the crux.
