Me and my friend played this on our GBAs with the link cable on the GameCube when it first came out. I have to say it is one of my most favorite FF experiences, and whenever I hear square announce another CC, I hope that they are making one in a similar style. Has anyone else ever played this multiplayer with the GBA and link cables?

I did once with my brother and it made the game into an entirely different experience. The game was good and solid, but the multi-player aspect made it far more enjoyable. It felt like a bigger quest and it was easier to pull tactical strategies instead of the guerrilla warfare single player offered

I'm hoping that if FF:Explorers gets released in the US it will be a similar multiplayer experience. I generally like single player games but the strategy between two players made the game much more enjoyable.

Has anyone else ever played this multiplayer with the GBA and link cables? Yea!! One of my favorite FF experiences too. One of the funnest games to play with your friends, used to go to my friends house back when we played it, and he had some extra GBA's and cables. It was so cool, but it definitely was slightly a hassle to need a GBA to play local multiplayer. If they did make a new CC it would be awesome if they only updated the graphics and made online multiplayer. Other than that i can't see any way they could improve upon the original, would like them to keep the same format ....Man i wish i could play it right now haha. major nostalgia

Only a little bit and it was fun.
I really hope Joe and Schweiss get 2 more friends to join in on their playthrough for this game so they can have a lot of fun lol.

This game was a lot of fun when I got a friend to join me. Single player is nice but having that extra person really boost the game.

I remember playing this game with friends too. It was fun, even on single player. Then I remember we all got the DS one (Ring of fates?) and it was terrible. Anyone else have that experience?

I only played the Gamecube one I never really played the 2 DS or Wii games much in the Crystal Chronicles series... Ring of Fates is kinda bad I heard BUT Echoes of time which is the sequel to it on DS is actually good I heard.

I did play multiplayer on this, and I had fun with it, but I was mostly just angry how much extra stuff they forced players to get if they wanted to play multiplayer. I didn't even get that far into the game because I didn't have much fun alone, and not many of my friends wanted to play it that much.
