The FF series is known for breaking new ground in terms of RPGs. However, there are other concepts from different RPG series that FF could adopt to improve their games. My favorite RPG concept is from the FF related Crono Trigger and its "new game plus." I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to play through a FF game but don't feel like going through the grind again. Sometimes I just want to relive a story, or maybe gain new incite into a FF game that was confusing at first (FF13 anyone?). I would really like to give FF12 another shot, but when I think about all of the hours I dumped into that game and really took nothing away from it, I realize I would rather shave my nuts with a rusty butter knife! If there was a new game plus in some FF games, and my levels/items could be carried over I might like to retry some of these games which I may have not enjoyed in the past. What concepts from other RPG games do you guys wish were in FF games?

A new game plus option would be awesome. I've often felt the same that I've wanted to play the game again but I didn't feel like starting all over.
Something I'd like to see is character creation. Similar to something like Dragon Age where your main character is whatever you want it to be, but the support characters have a significant impact on the story.

New Game would be cool.
I like the S. Links from Persona 3 and 4. Their level could influence your summons (similar to Yuna's level influencing summons in X).
I liked Mana Khemia's turn based system. Very similar to X's, but there would be empty slots in the turn order that you could manipulate with character powers.
The turn combos from Xenosaga I were pretty cool, too. Though I guess something like that appeared in FFXIII.

I agree with all of you. New game + would be awesome.

Then play and finish Lightning Returns FFXIII! It has new game plus and the game gets a lot better on the second run through, Ffxiii and part 2 had end game content aswell but the new game plus in lightning returns makes the game that much better.

I realized that the New Game+ was popular for some time and then I think it went away about the same time the console wars were picking up. Honestly I love New Game+ but I also like the difficulty levels Borderlands or PSO had where the story looped with a higher difficulty with the promise of better gear.

Yeah. Borderlands pretty much nailed the new game + concept.

What about a "New Game+" or "Second Quest" were you play through the game as the bad guys. Level up some mooks and be allowed to make bad decisions. Or play the same story again, but as the other side or minor characters playthrough a side plot.

Lightning Returns was awesome because it had New Game Plus+ and each time you beat it you could play again on a NG++ or NG++++ THere are also different stuff on hard mode than on normal mode so its great.
I replayed the game 3 times. I platinumed the game on PS3 so much fun.

I thought about it for FFX, but some of the things you have to do are way too time consuming.

I've only gotten a few platinums for games I absolutely had fun playing so it didn't feel like a chore.

The XIII plat is ridiculously grindy, soooooo close but soon far. XIII-2 is certainly achievable and I will get lightning returns as it's the first playthrough that's hard. FFX is hardcore because of the lightning dodges, never could do that. Iv only got a fewplay, The last of us, fallout 3, XIII-2 and a couple more

I already got the platinum for 13-2 (wasn't too difficult), and I don't think n I'll get the LR platinum. I don't want to play through the same game multiple times to get a platinum. I almost have the one in 10, but I got too burned out and put it down.
