Still haven't played 13 but this is a dam good reason to start :-) Love the 2d game feel. I liked 13. It has a similar feel to FF10 in the way you travel through each area which some people say makes the game too "linear" but it never bothered me. The battle system is a little strange at first but ends up being very fast paced and strategic later in the game.

Linear is not a big issue for me, the issue i have is that i hear 13 takes awhile to get interesting, and when your time is as limited as mine tends to be it can take weeks to get through that boring intro/training section of most games.

I wouldn't say it takes awhile to get interesting. I was into the story from the beginning, although I will say that it is confusing as hell during the first half of the game because you are trying to wrap your head around some strange concepts.

Gotta love that battle system That's about the only thing I loved. I really don't like to be a hater, and I tried really hard to like FFXIII but I just couldn't enjoy it on the same level that I did the other games. I got the platinum for it, but I doubt I'll ever play it again.

I played it for about 4 hours and I didn't really connect to any of the characters at all. All of this stuff happens to these characters in the first two hours of the game and I don't really care personally. The battle system was alright to me. I'm just not a 13 fan. I prefer 12 all the way to 13. My friend was super obsessed with 13 until she got to the big open field area? She decided to stop playing at that point. I didn't get too far into it. Tried.

I like FF13 but I have to wait 5 more years until the FF fanbase starts appreciating it... Thats how the FF cycle goes People are just finally starting to accept FF12.

Most people weren't big fans of 12, including myself, but now that I haven't played it after so many years I keep trying to talk myself into playing it again. While I agree that 13 wasn't the best FF game (FF10 was the last truly good FF in my opinion) it was still enjoyable for me, even though I'm still a little confused by the story.

That was awesome! Loved the retro graphics for XIII and XIII-2 and then the jump to the modern look of Lightning Returns. When I first saw the XIII series I was blown away by how far the look of the series has evolved since 8-bit days.
