That is a lot of time! Actually, filling the grid isn't terribly hard, just repetitive. Unless you want to max out your luck, I can see it being done within 8 or so hours. I guess I'm the not the expert on it though, I got bored and gave up!

I've seen a lot of people complain about lag, but honestly I haven't seen any of that. The game runs great for me, no problem.
And loving FFX as much as I do, buying this was a no-brainer. It's the game I love, except it's more beautiful and with better post game challenges. (The Dark Aeon kicked my butt a lot before I was ready to fight them.)

What about you Joe? Have you experienced any lag with your HD remastered edition of FFX?

I played it this last summer and decided I was going to try and get a platinum trophy for the game. One of the hardest trophies is to fill the entire sphere grid with every character. This includes ALL the empty nodes as well. This takes forever and spending a ridiculous amount of time at the monster arena. The other hard trophy is to beat all the dark aeons which were in the international version. I fought some with max strength, accuracy, speed, evasion, magic attack/defense, defense, and magic and still got my ass kicked. Apparently if you don't max out the luck stat you can still miss an enemy even with max accuracy, and the only way to max out the luck stat is through the monster arena. I haven't gone back to it yet but I'm trying x-2 now. I may have to skip those then. Or at least save them for a time I feel like playing through the game. Instead of playing through, I will just work on those bastards. Are they easy to avoid when I go back through the game, or will I just get jumped as soon as I try to go to an old area?

Dark Valefor will attack if you enter Besaid Village. Shiva if you approach the entrance to "Macarena" Temple haha. Bahamut if you enter back into the Yunalesca fight area. Yojimbo in his Cavern, if you go past the sphere and near the glyph, when you backtrack he ambuses you. Magus Sisters will ambush you at Mushroom Rock Road but you can avoid that one by running. Ifrit if you try to help the Al Bhed woman near the entrance to Home on Bikanel. Ixion if you talk to the monk on the thunder plains and Anima only if you redo Wakka's ball-throwing trial in the mountain cave.

The new graphics kind of bugged me at first. Or perhaps, it was actually seeing the graphics clearly instead of what I thought I had been seeing the previous times. The battle music feels different, too. I also noticed some slow load times in battle. I will get the screen-shatter, my characters will appear, but then 3 or 4 seconds will go by before the system tells me what type of battle I am going to have or before monsters spawn. Anyone else noticing any of these (or other) differences? I still like the game, but it just feels a little off. I also avoided the expert grid. Looks interesting, though. Maybe next play though. I have run into a few battles during the Gagazet trials area where it took five to ten seconds for the enemies and my characters to appear. So the lag does exist, but that's the only place i've seen it.
