Not sure if this has been asked on here before. But what final fantasy did you spend the most time grinding? Initially ff4 on the moon comes to mind but that was really only at one part of the game where I really had to grind heavily. FF12 on the otherhand felt like I had to grind consistently throughout and leveling up seems to be at a slower place. On my first play through I neglected both Fran and Penelo which was a big mistake. No joke my whole party was in the lvl 40 range while Fran was at level 14 and Penelo was level 21...i got to a point where I wanted to get one of the extra espers and I couldn't beat him to save my life until I leveled up both Fran and penelo to a reasonable range

I spent hours and hours grinding the Objet d'art in FFV. A group of five of them give 8 AP and when you need 999 to get several important skills, that takes forever. Luckily, I had it on my iPad and I would mindlessly move around and auto gold hairpin them to death while I watched a movie or something. Not sure how long exactly, but it felt like forever.

Most time grinding? XIII. Although I am still working through XII. I'm also one of those people who likes to power level though- I'll spend hours just grinding in an area so I can get through the next couple bosses easily. I think the most fun FFs to grind in- even if it's not my favorite or close- are, once again, XII and XIII. Might have to do with seeing the enemies and running them down. Also, the chains in XII are a neat way to make it not seem so bad.

The most I ever did grinding in a ff was probably 7 or 8 I started in the mako reactor in 7 and fought there with Barrett till the both of us we're lvl 99 took like 3 weeks if I remember right. And in 8 I spent like a solid week grinding in "the name of the futuristic city added here" territory for a whole week.

I am not a huge fan of grinding but if it is presented well it is no real issue, I hated grinding in 10 for spheres to compeltly sphere gride took forever lucky i was younger and had more free time, don't iamgine i will do that again. FF12 was easy to grind levels thanks to the gambits and those few enemies that spawned monsters lol, simple set gambits and walk away let the game grind itself which i got to thank the game for as grinding otherwise was a slow process. All in all the oldest games seemed the easiest to level up in, i remember leveling up in 1-7 very quicklly maxed out most of them easily. Did the same on 8 to my surprise that did not end well.....

So much Blitzball... I never found myself having to grind for two long. If I could not beat a boss, then I would spend a few minutes outside town until each character gain a level and go back in and deal with the boss. The only game I found that I had to grind on was near the end of Xenosaga I. Grinding for fun? I spent a lot of time invis/x-zoning monsters on dino island in Final Fantasy III/VI on NES. Probably slightly more time building stats in the arena in Final Fantasy X (but quickly got bored with it). But the winner is probably Final Fantasy IX trying to collect AP. Biggest waste of time grinding in an FF? Four Heroes of Light - since the boss I could not defeat leveled with me.

I guess blitzball could be considered grinding for me as well. I literally had to much fun playing blitzball to see the grind out of it. Played blitzball on repeat for about 6 months on x and then for anouther 5-6 months on x-2

I probably spent the most time grinding in FFX because that is the game that I've spent the most time in.
I try to keep all my party members at a decent level, so they can at least not die in a battle. Of course, I don't really do that in 10 because I know the game so well. The very first time I played the game, I never used Kimarhi so I ran into a lot of trouble when he had a solo boss fight near the end of the game. In every game since then, I'm brought in Kimarhi for at least one move during boss fights, so that he gets AP from it. But once he finishes his solo fight, he's never on my team again, and I don't miss him.

I really like Kimahri, and want to use him more, but once I got about halfway through the game, he started really falling behind. The solo fight with him wasn't too hard for me, but it took about 10-15 minutes because he did such little damage. As I've been replaying FFX lately, last night I finally got through the initial stages of trying to get powerful enough to defeat One Eye, so I could get Triple AP equipment, add Overdrive -> AP, and pull the Don Tonberry AP trick. I was really excited, after I finally got Tidus leveled enough to do 80-90k per hit, and I could easily wipe out One Eye. Finally, I can level up Kimahri! Nope. In the process of grinding One Eye, I got at least 3 Triple AP, 3 slot equipment for everyone else (and about 10 for Tidus), but even after fighting him for a good couple hours, I never got one for Kimahri. It's like the game doesn't even want me to use him.

For me probably ff7 when I was 13. I was homeschooled due to health problems at the time so I ran around in the Gongaga reactor morphing the tank enemy to get Cloud, Cid, and Vincent all to 255 strength. Then I moved on to the sunken gelnika. My time glitched at 99:59 way before I stopped playing, and I had sold so many maxed All materia for 1.4m each that my money was glitched too. After that it was probably FFX. Only part of it was grinding (alot also was blitzball grinding) but my last save file I can remember from 6 or 7 years ago was 220 hours.

At the time of me writing the message I was on my lunch break and had a complete brain fart of the name. And yeah 3 weeks in ff7 no joke and my neighbor repeat the tactic because he thought I was lying too. We left the machine on through out the night and saved in the morning while we were at school. Lol.
